Is that a profitable scale for Vanguard? I know of no other games than FoW in 15mm but then again I'm very clueless about that scale overall.

Is there a popular 15mm Sci-Fi game that would make people buy the Onslaught proxies?

pretty sure both rules from what I remember don't actually care about the scale of the mini.

No, not prescriptive, but most people play grunts at 15mm i believe - never played it myself but seems to be the old schoolers choice for hard scifi - those that want away from GW heroics basically. Therefore maybe not ideal market for onslaught...

Tomorrows war is similarly scale agnostic. Not sure if anyone actually plays it though.

I can imagine there is a niche market for 15mm stuff. Personally I'm not that big a fan of all those what I call 'in between scales'. 28-32mm is cool for skirmish stuff, the 6-10 (and even 2-3mm) is fitting for large and more strategic battles. But I've always felt that 15-20mm don't really do it for me. Well, there are a few cool vehicles and mecha in those ranges though...

There are quite a few 15mm sci-fi miniature manufacturers, although most of these cover so called "hard sci-fi" but generally this is more prolific scale than 6mm-8mm. Just of the top of my head you have:-

Ground Zero Games
Critical Mass Games
15mm.co.uk/Ion Age

Blue Moon/Old Glory
Khurasan
Rebel Minis

There are also several more rule systems other than Gruntz & Tomorrow's War. You could argue that the 15mm sci-fi market is flooded with figures, but both top two manufacturers continue to release miniatures. The quality of Onslaught miniatures is excellent so if he releases miniatures that catch the imagination, and are not the "same old", as he is currently doing I say support him all the way.

The other argument though is it distracts from his core routes and as a one man band diversity is not always the best way.

Adrian

Well it would seem that elsewhere as well as from replies here that i've no need to stock the 15mm range. What i'm considering doing is allowing customers to make 15mm orders but they'd have to wait until I make a regular re-stock order at which time i'd add their order to that re-stock list. Means you'd have to wait a while but at least you'd have the option to order via my store if you are not in a hurry to get them.

From Nordic Weasel:
http://www.wargamevault.com/browse.php? ... h=0&page=1

The FiveCore series - small group skirmish, 5-8 figures per side
- FiveCore Skirmish ... generic, modern skirmish
- Five Parsecs From Home ... scifi adventure skirmish, traveling starship crew, eg: Firefly
- Five Men In Normandy, Five Men In Kursk ... WW2
- FiveCore Pulp ... pulp adventure, Indiana Jones, etc.

The "... In Sight" series - a little larger scope, several teams, 5-20 figures per side and maybe a vehicle or two.
- No End In Sight (modern)
- No Stars In Sight (hard scifi)
- No Hope In Sight (post-apoc)

All of these are great games that play on a relatively small table (2ft - 3ft) and a small number of figures.

Today we see the release of a range of 15mm scale figures for playing skirmish style games in the Defeat in Detail universe. This is the start of what we hope will be an expansive range of 15mm scale models. These initial first figures have been developed by Troublemaker Games and have been available on their webstore for a while now but are now also available here. Over time we will be collaborating on new additions to the range and there are already some items at the casters due for release soon.

Hope you find the new range of interest.

Regards John

Just a quick question, do you guys have any idea where we could possibly promote/discuss 15mm model ranges? Thing is that I'm not that familiar with the market in different scales outside of the 40k-esque stuff. So any suggestions for where we can promote this stuff is more than welcome. :)
