Don't forget to wander by the SG BFG forums when you get to space ships and stations too

I'll be sharing it over there. As well as the Resin Addicts forum and the French BFG forum. By the way, if there are any French speakers here, please share the Epic scaled stuff over at the French Epic forum. :)

By the way, why no poll for the Cybershadows?

I've got some ideas for units:
-Light walker armed with either twin linked autocannons or laser cannons
-Light walker mounted by characters either wielding rifles or lances
-Battle tank armed with a lightening gun
-Robotic infantry with jump packs armed with heavy energy weapons
-Robotic infantry with jump packs armed with close combat weapons
-Various types of heavier robots
-Infantry characters that can shoot lightening

Go for it, if it works it works, if it doesn't you can just quit or change your methods.

I think most people here already assumed you were going to try this plan out. You could try it out with a few miniatures, see where it'll take you. :)

It seems like a sensible approach to me :- only produce items with proven demand.

And as m2 suggests, 'fail-fast'! Invest minimally and if it doesn't work out try something else.

Ok chaps thanks for responding i've already added a new section to the site and several of the new models as well (hidden at the moment) i'm looking to get the ball rolling by weeks end.

Good news is that i've been looking at costs and comparing the new designs with similar models from the range and it would seem that there would not need to be huge numbers of pre-orders to get stuff funded. For example the truck both variants should be funded with around 25 to 30 packs sold each at most. Prices may well change once they are actually on general sale but not by much unless my math is totally out.

Sub 50 pack goals should help momentum and give an easily achievable target.

Obviously larger models will require more sales before funding can be reached.

Cheers guys.

Ok I have here the proposal as written on my website on how it will work please read through this and tell me what you think.

Hope to launch this over the next few days with some of the new designs we have printed and those items still waiting in the printing queue.

CUSTOMER FUNDING PROJECT:

This new section of the site contains images and details for proposed new models. Here you can contribute towards getting those models you want to see added to the range by pre-ordering them. All contributions received will go towards getting these models manufactured once the funding level has been reached. All pre-orders will be fufilled once the first stock shipment arrives. The idea here is to get sufficiant funding from pre-orders to have new models produced much earlier than would be viable if I had to fund all new products myself. I think it’s a winner for everyone, I get new products on sale quicker and design and production costs covered by the pre-order system you the customer get your new models much sooner than would normally be the case. For all intents and purposes this will be an in house continuous run kickstarter campaign.

The in stock number is my way of showing how well a new design is doing once the stock level reaches zero that model will be funded and manufactured at the earliest opportunity.

One restriction on this is the requirement to keep pre-orders separate from regular orders for several reasons including paperwork so if you wish to participate in the pre-order funding project then please order these items in a separate order from anything else you may wish to purchase.

Thank you all in advance for any support you may give, this project will not bear fruit without your participation and it will be truly be gratefully received.

Regards John

A bit late to this (and sorry if it has been covered already) but a method I recall being used in the Battletech community was certain users paying the fees for design, sculpting, moulds for various mechs then getting that value back in casts of that model. Similar to a preorder, really, but might be something to consider when people get in touch about really, really wanting a model of X.

Anyway, I'm liking the proposals and especially liking the community feel and support that is clearly running both ways. Keep up the good work! :)
