We have some important news for you folks.

We had hoped that we would be able to supply the shortfall in orders and miss-packs that were not shipped due to the demise of Hysterical. The plan was to start retailing the AoT range through our online store to generate capital to help fund the production of the unshipped products. However, the scale of the shortages has surprised us and frankly it would take a considerable amount of sales for us to full fill all the backer orders. Added to this is the further complication that the original team members have other full time commitments now which will not allow us to develop the range as we had originally envisaged.

Our primary focus has always been on the backers, you folks supported us, so it's essential we find a solution to fulfil our commitment to you. To that end we have agreed a deal to sell on the entire AoT range to Scotia. They in turn will fulfil all the order shortages, miss-packs etc. For the team it's a bitter sweet deal, but in the end, it seems the only way in which you, the backers, will get your product, and that the game will be further developed in Scotia's hands. The chaps at Scotia have over 30 years experience in 6mm and they are very excited about the possibilities for AoT.
You can get in touch with them at
orders"at"scotiagrendel.com
They are also admins on this page so feel free to ask questions here too.

I'm sure many of you will have questions so please feel free to fire away. I for one will be on hand to help Scotia through the handover period but I will also be involved in the future developed of the game so it's not good bye from me.

All the very best folks, you have been marvellous.

Cheers

John

This a good thing or not? I do not know but perhaps we'll finally have a chance to realistically see this go to retail this way.

Urban Mammoth was the same people that were behind AoT and it never struck me as particularly well managed. All of their stuff eventually ended up with their caster (Scotia) so it's unsurprising that their 6mm stuff now resides with them too.

I did not know that. Its a shame they had to give it up. The models were great. Spindly sandrunner legs aside, everything I got came out the way I hoped it would.

I hope that the line can continue, but realistically I don't know if it will expand much beyond what is already there.

I would like to see a competitor to the unsupported Epic games come along in the 6mm space. I hope that's Polyversal, but anything that got younger gamers into 6mm would be great in my book.(Adeptus Titanicus hasn't done much where I am).

Been over to Scotis Grendel , and must say the current range looks great ( Yes, they prioritised gettign pictures up for the "color and movement" crowd :D ) - There's even some renders of planned future releases on the Nerws page.

I would love to see more 6mm science fiction games..... but they seem to be cursed a bit. There were a number of potential games at one point - Age of Tyrants, Command Horizon, Steel Crown had one in production, Dark Realm had one out, Polyversal was in development, plus the long standing Future War Commander.... Now.... I backed Polyversal and its been years but the game still isn't 'completed' from the Kickstarter, and most of the other games are gone.

How many new 6mm scifi tabletop games do does the rather puny market support?

In a lot of ways, I think that Epic is a genre for itself, outside of 'other' scifi games. I think that Epic players dont necessarily play other 6mm games and vice versa. It was a golden age when there was a market to at least propose more 6mm scifi games. I feel like now its all 28mm skirmish out there.

With age I have found that my appetite for painting huge armies is diminishing. I can't help wondering if pushing out new best of all flavour of the month systems is only ever going to dilute an already rather thin group of players. But then again, gamers seem to be a rather fickle breed. What happens happens I suppose.

Unfortunately Scotia Grendel don't know their AoT range. Have made 2 orders and both have been disappointing as i received things by mistake or bits or bases were missing.

That's a real shame to hear.

I was hoping to order some of their lovely looking tanks for Epic as Squat proxies.

The junkers tanks do seem to be a great fit for a Squat line, do they not?

Has anyone ordered any of these through Scotia Grendel yet?

Interestingly, it seems that Scotia are exploring possible buyers for the AoT line, or at the very least gauging people's interest. Curious if anyone actively plays the game, or the minis are just used in other settings.
