Fiddled about with the website, the old one went down - PHP Nuke just wasn't stable enough so I am recoding it from scratch.

Basically PHP Nuke kept being hacked - it is a public domain script so everyone has access to the source code, no matter how many security patches they release. It also has incompatible include statements that conflict with our new distributed load servers. The new code is written by me and has none of these issues ;).

I have tryed to make the interface changes as minimal as possible so that people don't have relearn the navigation.

At the moment the article archive is up - only an index is up, I haven't split them into subcategories yet, so it takes a while for the page to come up, but you have access to every article ever published on NetEPIC.org and Epic40k.com. Expect another 20 to be on there soon :).

If there are any articles I have missed then please let me know.

The Top 25 script is in beta, it is awaiting migration of the download counters from the original PHP Nuke database and population of the description field, so that explains all the 'Unknown Download' fields.

The downloads section will contain whole files, such as NetEPIC Rulebooks/armybooks, Heresy, WetEPIC etc. That section will be up shortly.

The tacticus is going to be something very special indeed - that will be done last.

The news section will be a glorified blogger - so won't be hard to code.

The FAQ will be straight HTML files - nothing fancy, it isn't needed.

The Submit Feedback link will lead to a guestbook script

The Links will be an automated links list simular to the original NetEPIC links list. Anyone can add there site, sites will be ranked according to popularity/rating. Better security this time, people can't vote for there own site ;).

Anyway it is work in progress, but check it out here. Or through the link on the Nexus.

Hi!

Good to see it back up!

Does the changes affect those with administrative access?

Yep, there is no such thing any more. It is no longer a PHP Nuke website, it is completely custom coded :).

When it is done I will document it and send a copy of the documentation to yourself and Doug. In case I get hit my a bus, or die of some hideous STD (or are they STI's now?!? Can never keep up).

Definately more secure - I coded it personally and I have a background in computer security.

Primarch - It will be up and running soon, it is getting more complete every day I will keep this thread updated ;).

Why do I keep getting the feeling that even though we have an age difference of over 10 years I have far worse skills in programming than you...

Then again, I started programming at the Uni so I wasn't born with a keyboard on my hands... :p

Just 10 years?!? :p

You forget I started programming when I was 8 ;). I pretty much started everything young, except surprisingly alcohol, had my first beer when I was 18...

I have Stormseer and Warmaster Nice to thank for that, they have both been great assets to the Nexus team :).

Good news - I have the news page up :). I am in two minds as to whether it is worth importing the old sites news articles, so let me know what you think.

Main links works fine, try F5ing it.

There was some legacy links to the old download pages that might be dodgy - but as far as I know the old download pages still work, just the main kernal failed.
