When I go to the Nexus and try to access EpiCentre I get this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: themeheader() in /www/n/netepic/htdocs/INCOMING/html/header.php on line 47

Anybody else gotten this one lately?  ???

Might be the SQL server acting up - I am looking into it now.

I was right basically we have this issue

Code Sample
SQL Error : 1226 User 'netepic' has exceeded the 'max_questions' resource (current value: 72000)

We are allowed 72,000 queries/user per hour, I am working on a fix to reduce the number of the SQL queries we make on the site.

In a way, we are a victim of our success.

You mean that the EpiCentre is getting more than 72000 queries an hour! Holy Smoke!

not quite, the SQL server is getting 72000 queries per hour, that's  not quite the same as 72000 hits or whatever

the front page alone on a single hit must generate what hundreds if not thousands of queries as it is all dynamic?

Hi!

I think it is, but I'll let Tom field that one.

He also has all sorts of statistics on hits, unique users and all that stuff.

We get about 625 hits on average per hour, and between 10k and 20k a day.

Note only around 325 hits are unique each day.

Right - fixed it.

The problem was that our CMS (content management system) used one user account. We had two spare user accounts, so I added a piece of code that rather give a straight username randomly selected from a list of three.

We now have triple the base amount of hits per hour allowance :).

All is good, I guess it is to be expected on the day of the release of Incoming! that hits would rocket :D.

Doug, stop writing such great ezines - we can't deal with Incoming!'s popularity :p

Well, thats still pretty impressive - its good to see the site growing so well.

(I'm quite happy with my average 36 uniques a day on my TMB site  :D   )
