...Sabertooth produced the Warhammer 40k card game a while back, and GW were impressed, so bought most of the company.. now they just another part of the GW company- like Fanatic, the Black Library etc, except they are based in the US I belive..
Personally I won't be getting any.. CCGs are just too.... well, expensive and not as cool as little miniatures.. The ammount of money some people I know spend on Magic cards is ridiculous, imho as I really can't see the attraction!
Of course, it will be interesting to see the new fluff and artwork that is brought out with the game...

Hi!
The thing I dont like about CCG's and the Wizkids "clickies" is the collectable part of it. The better player is determined by he with most money not tactics.
Not my cup of tea.

Yeah, I agree Primarch.. the Mechwarrior clickie models are quite cool, and I might have been tempted to buy a few boxes.. if they weren't "collectable" in style..

Hi!
I had the same feeling Stormseer. I like the clickies, but not being able to buy what I WANT, and not knowing whats in the box, I find despicable. Its my money and I DEMAND the right to choose what I buy not have it thrust upon me by marketing gimmicks.

I got into the 40K CCG briefly, and while I had very low expectations to start with, I was very impressed. It did seem that Sabretooth tried to get rid of those 'killer cards'. The 40K also had a dice roll result on the bottom of each one, and the weaker cards had better dice roll results. So, if you only got the powerful cards, nothing would work well, and if you only got the good dice results, you did not get to use them much.
That being said, I will probably not be getting the Horus CCG. The thing is that it is expensive for a piece of card. You get the pack and trade the ones that you dont want or need, but some cards are really rare. I will stick to minis unless the Horus game looks really good.

Hi!
It's ridiculous how high priced card games are, it's just cardboard with a fancy drawing on it. I'm of the opinion that they don't further the gaming hobby, but just are parasites of it. Too many game shops invested heavily in it just to go under when the magic craze ended. Then came Pokemon and now Yugi-oh! They are ver attractive for store owners since they move quickly and take up little space, but they dont really get you long time customers.
I view "clickies" in the same light.

Get a scanner and a printer - then no more issues with rare cards.
Can probably download most of them somewhere. Then you can enjoy the game without the price tag and having millions of redundant cards.

Really? ?What kind of null field you are using? I wonder how high I am on their list. After all, I'm responsible for many of their new armylists and units ending up converted to Net Epic. ?Besides, I dared to design a non-canon version of the Sisters of Battle.

Hi!
Is it really that way Tom? You have more contact with Jervis and others than me, is that your impression?
