Avians will be getting some beast powered engines of war - and a few other ancient engines that they don't quite fully understand. |

Already thinking, have they devolved? taken over the tech of a long lost species? or something else? Cant wait to see  My first thought was the tzar tank with a giant hampsterwheel

Its sort of like the Gungans in Star Wars - they have tech, but still use beasts to haul it around. They are a devolving race. They are the only known race to colonize multiple planets without the use of space craft. Instead they used reality bending gates and an unprecedented understanding of the cosmos. They set up a vast cosmic empire and developed highly advanced technology. What they did not anticipate, was that their gates would eventually attract the attention of the Stygians - who were natives of another plane of reality. The Stygians launched a massive assault on the Avian homeworlds from these gates - fleeing a terror from their own reality that was threatening to consume them (The Hellborn). The surprise attack resulted in the slaughter of countless Avians. Entire worlds were subjugated, and the Avians had no choice to destroy the remaining gates before they were wiped out entirely. Some of Hellborn demons followed the Stygians through the gates as well, and have been a blight on our plane ever since. So yeah - now the Avian homeworlds are cut off from one another by vast distances. Communications between worlds can only be done via the use of Shamans, and even the simplest of messages can take years to arrive, if at all. Knowledge of old technologies are slowly being lost to time. Some Avian worlds are now completely primitive, though some do retain a strong understanding of their ancient technology and remember a time when their race spanned the stars. |

Will there exampels of old almost-worn-out avian technology, that they have no idea how to rebuild, in your line? portals and so on? |
