Looking good.

Want to mention just how much I like the progress lists your doing, like the one above. It's great to have some idea what's coming and to see you gradually working down toward the bottom and a new wave of figs.

Disagree. It's a nice little detail that the armored sleeves matches the grip on the sword. Maybe it's a special shadowstuff armor from their home dimension? Anyway, giving a little thought to it now gives a nice flair to the finished models.

At that scale, it's completely irrelevant. At 28mm, I couldn't agree more with you. But it's a moot point, the mock ups are done and now we await the physical models.

Love 'em.

And I think it is a good idea to think ahead about what these will look like at 15mm or 28mm. What if Rebel Mike or Jon from Khurasan, or a 28mm manufacturer signs a license agreement and releases it at another scale? 6mm is the priorty, but it needn't be the sole consideration.

These look great at their scale, but they are rich and flavorful enough to pop up later in other kinds of games as well. Like the Sisterhood, I think the Stygians have developed a personality all their own rather than being Not-whatevers. Excellent work!

Would love to eventually see the ranges in 15mm. Just throwing it out there; I don't expect them anytime soon - if ever.

I do wonder sometimes if the demand would cover the production costs...

Its probably worth looking into at least. I know when I first found your stuff I thought they would be cool at larger scales.

The vehicles might be problematic though.

Let us not get too dispersed here. The one true scale is still definitely 6mm :D

I have a hard time envisioning an upscale not requiring substantial resculpt work though.

Possibly. There's been a huge upswing in 15mm SciFi in the last few years - GZG, Brigade, and Khurasan sell far more in 15mm than in 25/28mm or 6mm (not to mention CMG surviving quite well on 15mm alone). Maybe throw out some feelers on different message boards at an appropriate time; I'm fairly sure you have your hands full at the moment without distracting yourself with a new project.

As to vehicles, I'd expect to pay $15-$20 each for, say, an OTC MBT or APC, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't buy more than 6 to 12 or so (combined, and not necessarily in one order). Not positive, just pretty sure. ;D

Well for me it's 6mm all the way, so I can't really say. The only thing that could tempt me to go for other scales would be more display pieces kind of models, and then that would be at least 30 mm scale, and probably only a very very small number of pieces.

You could always use a kick starter style campaign to raise the funds and ensure interest before committing.

I disagree with that. Well done fine details are important at 6mm, even if you need to look closely at a miniature to appreciate them.

Where there are multiple proxies available to represent a particular model type I will invariably buy the most aesthetically pleasing and finely detailed version, even if that means selling on other existing proxies I might already have to represent that model type.

I'm only interested in 6mm too.

B. But a slight scrape of a file should fix that little hook problem =P

(edit): Oh .. Yay! .. Nevermind then (o:

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Deacon should branch off or take a break to re-mold in another scale. He does 6mm very, very, VERY well.

What I am saying is that it really doesn't cost anything other than 30 seconds of skull sweat when making design decisions to leave the possibility open. It might be next year, it might be five years, it might be never. But why box yourself out unnecessarily? I mean, yeah you'll be remastering anyway, but a consistent look is always nice.

If Deacon ever went ahead with such a plan, I suspect he'd license it out to another company. They pay him a royalty or license fee for the design/brand, he provides the digital models, and they do the mastering/casting/selling at the alternate scale. That minimizes his risk, time investment, and fixed costs-- all that is handled by the partner, who is already set up for it. But any partner worth linking up with will wait to see how the line does in any event, so it's academic at the moment.
