not easily - there could be no gap between it and the main figure for casting purposes -- given the size of the fist behind it, that would be a lot of filler... Not impossible though.

i imagine the fist would fit fairly well under the shoulderpad and in line with the breastshelf?
It just feels odd, especially the one on the right, who is all "Allow me to place this shield so that it is protecting virtually no part of my body from any angle of attack"

You could easily cut the arm and glue it as such. Wouldn't take much effort. I posed my old Guard infantry in a prone position by cutting them from their bases and using green stuff to fill in the abdomen, then laid them on their bellies. To cut and move the shield would be easy by comparison.
