Hi guys.
Well it's 1 AM and me end my gaming buddy are getting tired after playing the initial rounds of a massive 10.000 point battle.
We spent the better part of the evening planning this game which I plan to write up as a battle report for Incoming. It was quite fun since it's been a long time since either of us last played SM2/NetEpic so there was a lot of things which needed refresing.
The idea was to pitch the forces of Chaos against a defending Imperial army. We wanted to include as many Titans as possible to make this battle s visually appealing as possible. This also ment that we had to restrict ourselves to using painted miniatures only. We also agreed to sometimes discard what would be tactically sound and instead opt for solutions which would result in an entertaining battle.
The motto for this project is: "Bigger is better". We chose Netepic as the E:A rules tend to become a bit unbalanced in such massive games. The finished result should hopefully be an Epic battlereport which will put those lousy E:A skirmishes in White Dwarf to shame.
I would be using 2 Warhounds, 3 Reavers, 3 Warlords and an Imperator pitched against 2 Traitor Warlords, a Banelord and a Lord of Battles. As a result my Imperial army would be seriously lacking the numbers to stem the Chaos Horde but this in itself should make for an interesting fight.
I've started out by unleashing a cataclysmic bombardement from my Titans and artillery. My opponent is advancing through cover at an unnerving pace... Luckily I have the Ultramarines 1st Terminator company along with a Librairan dug into trenches on my right flank which hopefully keeps me from being overrun by the servants of Khorne.
At the centre the Death Guard in Rhinos are charging towards my Imperator titan. I've protected it behind a screen of Robots who, because they never check morale, should be able to withstand the Daeemonic onslaught. The death guard is the least of my problems there though: Behind the traitor marines tower a Lord of Battles and two Chaos titans! -This could get dangerous! I'm moving two warlords and a Reaver in from the flanks to protect the Emperor titan...and if everytihng should fail I hope my teleporting Grey Knights can take out the Lord Of Battles.
On my left flank a company of Cadians supported by Stormhammers and an Inquisitor are preparing to dig into the ruins of an Imperial city. I prepare for a tough fight there against my opponents Thousand Sons.
The battle continues tomorrow and hopefully this sunday shall bring victory to the Emperor's finest.
