Correct, this is what I think I should do.
Gold is old enough to need an update along the lines iof errata and clarifications, with the only "new" thing added being the formula values.
Anything beyond that would be strictly optional.
Platinum should be the vehicle for new ideas on how to modify and enhance the older mechanics and import ideas from any system as long as they mesh with the whole.
Perhaps the biggest ideas being formula based costs as primary mechanism for cost and a revamped army building system that uses cards in a new way that curtails some of the old issues while also providing a free-form way to build said armies.
The first would be relatively easy to do while the second can develop at a more liesurely pace.
