Post subject: | Line of sight and definiton on model for indirect arty |
Hi A few things came up during our last game. I come from playing a lot of napoleonics, acw and some ww2 and im coloured from this. Line of sight: The rules state that if a line can traced from the middle of model to a target one can shoot. Is there really no restructions on firing through own lines. Im fine with things that much lager, e.g. super heavies og titans shooting over smaller units. But it sits wrong with me that a landraider can shoot through a 1cm opening between infantry. Am i the only one that considers this behaviour "gamey" and has any one come up with a suitable house rule? When a unit forgoes ets shooting for call in a artillery strike is it then: -A stand -A squad (2 stands for space mariens) -A Detachment That foregoes its shooting? Cheers |

Hi! I personally do it by pinning category, so a higher pinning category can shoot through a smaller one, but not in reverse. Therefore land raiders could shoot through infantry in the way, but infantry could not shoot through land raiders in the way. As for the artillery spotter, just one stand, not the detachment or squad. Primarch |

Hi The pinning class was what i thought was in the rules regarding drawing line of sight though own units. I could not find it during the game and i could not find it today after a reread of the rules. I personally think that it should be in the rules regarding LOS. Ill give it a spin. Also thanks for answer regarding artillery calling. Cheers Jens |

I just recently updated them, so I'll wait just in case there is more. By the way, thanks for posting your questions, the best way to improve things is to have a fresh set of eyes go through them, so your playing and giving your feedback is invaluable. ![]() Primarch |

Hi I have given this some more thought. So just to be sure: Does the land raider shoot over infantry or is it only allowed to through the gaps between the individual infantry stands? Cheers Jens |

Cheers Jens Hi! Land raider is a higher pinning class than infantry, so it can shoot right over them. ![]() Primarch |
