Post subject:  Templates

I have a question about templates in the rule books. Right now there are many templates that are necessary to field certain units, but they are not included anywhere in the Netepic core rules or the army books. The table from the previous rules is gone so there is no way for new players to know what some of those templates even look like without buying the old ones on eBay. For example the template from the Trygon, the Wave Serpent shield or the odd rectangular template from the Dominatrix. And there are many others. Whoever did the basic flame and blast templates in the core book did a great job. Would it be possible in the same way for someone to put the army specific templates at the back of the relevant army books?
At the very least the table describing all the templates could be reinstated at the end of the core rule book. Yet it seems a shame that people might have to bodgy up their own templates from cardboard at home based on those descriptions when the rest of the rule set is presented with such polish.

Hi!

Thanks for point this out. Often times we forget that some players may actually need these from scratch.

There used to be a "play aid" file somewhere with all the templates, but it has been lost to the internet.

I have to update the Gold books for errata. It seem I have to add this to the list of additions. :)

If you need some scans of the original ones to hold you over PM me.

Thanks for the offer Primarch. But as it happens I've either got all the templates I need from back in the day or off eBay by now. My thought is that if the rules are to be self contained and designed to attract newbies, it'd be great if someone expert in graphic design could do fresh versions for the missing templates in the spirit of the ones already in the back of the core book. That would be much better to my mind than sharing scans of the old templates separate from the main rules and the relevant army books (for copyright reasons).
I'm saying that mind you as someone who has no skill or software for doing such things. I know it would involve finding someone to do it and that's easy for me to say.

Hi!

No worries. :)

I think it wasn't done because the playing aids file provided what every one needed.

I agree it should really be in the books.
