Stupid units rule states that: "Certain units are not noted for their intelligence and must receive direction from someone else. If there is no one to give them orders, roll a D6: 1-2 the unit has Advance Orders, 3+ Charge Orders." Can any unit give them orders or does it need to be a unit with Command or HQ abilities? How close to they need to be to give orders to the stupid unit? 10cm? |

That's good, but how close to they need to be to give the orders? Sorry, I am in a very quizzical mood at the moment! |

Probably varies by army listing. Offhand, the only army that I can think of with a model with that ability is Chaos and that model is the Chaos Troll. The Troll Warband comes with an Aspiring Champion and 10 Trolls. Presumably, so long as the Aspiring Champion is alive, the Stupidity roll is not made, and it is likely this that the rule is referring to. My guess would be that the Core Rules were finished before the army books were, and thus it wasn't certain that this would be the case, thus the wording in Core being vague. If this is the case, I would recommend that either the wording in Core be changed to reflect this or it be removed from Core entirely and put in the Special Rules section of the Chaos pdf with such wording. Good catch Bissler. |

Good catch Bissler. Hi! I think you are correct Magnus, the core rule book was done first. I think I will just eliminate it from the core book and leave it described in its appropriate book/unit. It was for the Ogryns I was thinking of this but on checking we seem to have dispensed with this for Net Epic so problem solved. The Trolls were also on my mind so thanks for clearing that up as well Magnus! ![]() |

I too was struggling to think of an example other than Chaos Trolls (one of my favourite units incidentally). I agree that it makes sense to remove this rule from the core rules if it only affects one or two specific units. The Chaos rules describe how to handle Trolls, so the core rulebook doesn't need to. |

Hi! While the errata pdf is deceptively small. I suspect there will be a lot of issues like this, where the rule is better served attached to the unit than a stand alone in the core book. I understand why it was done, but it seems to be counter intuitive to what people expect which are special rules attach to the unit. Primarch |

Special rules which apply to units across different armies are logical to have in the core rules. It's just special rules which only apply to one or two units, or to a specific army, which really don't need to be written out in the core rules in my opinion. |
