I see other rules versions of Epic have a tournament scene in the UK, is there one for NetEpic? |

I don't play netepic but there seem to be a good few players in scotland, I'd be interested to read about an event if it went ahead.... I would have thought the slightly less abstract nature of the rules would make it slightly slower and more fiddly as a tournament game.... I could be wrong of course |

Which epic rules do you play Kyussinchains and why? |

I play Epic Armageddon, mostly as I see them as a (relatively) streamlined ruleset, I was a HUGE fan of AT and SM2 but did find the rules a little fiddly and sluggish at times....all those tokens could bog down quite badly.... got out of gaming when I went off to uni, came back a few years later and E40K was out.... didnt get the rules, didn't like the huge change, dropped it completely Got interested again about 4 years ago and the 8 years off playing warhammer changed something in my brain, really liked the rules for E:A, liked the removal of all the special rules and felt it was the perfect balance between SM2 'feel' with a really slick ruleset... never looked back really! |

I misread that as a "few good players in Scotland"! I play NetEpic, I live in Scotland, but recently I've discovered I'm no good at it! Doesn't seem to stop me though! ![]() It would be nice to have a tournament sometime, but we'd need to call upon NetEpic players from every corner of the land... An online tournament playing games across Skype might be a more viable option. And that would mean we could open it up to the world!!! |

What about smaller regional heats then getting together for the finals? |

Hmm, possible! I suppose it depends on the enthusiasm (or lack thereof) wether this is a viable prospect. Who would be up for such an event? Speak now or forever hold your peace! ![]() |

I have to admit Ive still not played an Epic game in years and NetEpic Gold looked to be most like my favourite version of Epic. I'm currently building up my armies (Marines, Orks, Guard and Tau) and I'm using the NetEpic basing (it's a shame that all the rule sets don't use basing formulas). I do own a copy of the AE rule set, but I believe these have been replaced by online rules. I will have a look and compare. |

Well it would be fine to use stuff based for netepic in epic:armageddon as the basing requirements are not strict at all, we still use the rules as printed (and downloadable from the GW site) so nothing has changed aside from the army lists |

Yes that's what I'm saying ![]() You can even play with the rulebook lists but will find them horrendously bent..... |

As much as it pains me to say it, if you are looking for someone new to play against (in a club or for someone from the forum), I daresay you'll find it a lot easier to find a game of E:A. I have a few family members who enjoy NetEpic and refuse to play E:A, so I consider myself very fortunate that I can continue to play my favourite system! Hopefully you can find a few people willing to do the same, good luck mate! ![]() |

PS Have you checked on miniwars.co.uk ? Have a look at the profiles of people nearby, it should tell you what they play. |
