I wonder if anyone has programing skills to make an army generator for net epic? That would be probably more useful.

2 years ago, I started an app for codex and army list creation, I did not finish it ::) Maybe time has come to complete the project :)

Hi!

I believe the time is ripe for this, if you were so inclined. I am not much on the coding side, but I can write/compile anything you would need.

I think such a program would be infinitely useful.

I agree wholeheartedly. Not only would it be great for saving time but I think it might make things easier for me when asking my nephew to compile army lists. I have no programming skills either so can only offer to be a rather unattractive cheerleader willing you on from the sidelines.

I'm sure files suitable for the Armyforge could be created. I've not looked at Net Epic but do you still build like in SM2? So formations are fixed and its x support, y special per company? If so then Armyforge data files shouldn't be that hard to create, if someone had the time?

Mostly, yes. Tyranids are structured ... differently. I have the feeling that there is one other faction that is also different, but I cannot think of it offhand.

Just a note on the cards. I do like them, and I still use them, but they're not easily accessible to everyone, so if we're looking to attract new blood, that's the reason to not use them any more in terms of the rules. It would be okay to mention that they exist, and that some players still use them, but references to cards need to be replaced in the core rules in my opinion.

Hi!

After a freak electrical storm last night that burnt out my router, modem and network card, I will be a little "bandwidth challenged for a day or two. I will comment more fully when this is resolved.

Personally, when I read the NetEpic rules many moons ago, the references to cards did not help clarify things.

That sucks! Although that's better than when my computer got fried because of power a surge caused by an ice storm that knocked down wires.

Hi!

The elements are out to get us... ;D

Got the router replaced and the network card. Testing the modem. So far so good.

Electrical storms, ice storms... never again will I complain about the weather in Scotland!

Ok, never is unlikely, for a while I can do!

So we seem to have some sort of agreement that any reference to cards should be replaced, but that doesn't stop us producing cards to represent those formations at a later date.

I don't play NetEpic, but as the chap responsible for building the armyforge files for Epic-UK, I would say that if NetEpic armies are built from the cards, it would be very easy for someone to make lists for ArmyForge, they're really very easy to do, even a self-professed technophobe could do it quite easily, I would say that would be the best way forward, ArmyForge already has warmaster lists on it, so it's in no way limited to Epic:Armageddon

I'm not too familiar with netepic lists, but what I am familiar with should be easily doable in armyforge. It should accomadate the company card + upgrade structure pretty easily. Oh, but I see kyussin beat me to it.

Hi!

So what would you need me to do to acheive a workable module for Army Forge?

I got the time, all I need is instruction. :)

For a single army? A few hours from scratch. Less if you are updating an existing file. As a non-programmer, I can say adam77 has created/used a remarkably intuitive programming environment. If you can program a graphing calculator, you can create a list.

Hi!

To recap peoples desires. The revision will encompass mainly the correction of typos, omissions and the updating the language to eliminate references to army cards as well as any old legacy language to be consistent and clear.

As to the format I was planning on opening one thread for each of the following:

Net Epic core rules
Space Marines
Chaos
Eldar (includes Dark Eldar, even of we split it off to its own book)
Squats
Tyranids
Orks
Imperial Guard
Mechanicum (includes titans)

The slann will be left out until deacon produces any minis and the list can be tailored to it.

If there are people whom like to be in charge of a particular army list, let me know. Once the threads are established I will create a list to "focus" on a particular list and go down that list until its all done.

Thoughts or suggestions?

I plan to start the threads and revision on Tuesday.

Not sure if it's intentional or not, but you forgot / left off two (three? ) more lists.

Necron
Ministorum (Sisters of Battle and Frateris Militia)

I suppose I may just be being picky with the spelling on this one, but there is no Faction called "Mechanicum'. Do you perhaps mean the 'Adeptus Mechanicus' & Titan Legions? If so, you'd probably just be best off calling the thread Titan Legions, as the AM are generally not used without them. At least, in my experience.
