Hello!

I was wondering if anyone had ever put all of the unit summary & weapons tables on to an Excel spreadsheet?

While the tables in the NetEpic Gold downloads are excellent, I sometimes have problems finding the units that I'm looking for in amongst the long lists, particularly when it is for a force that I am unfamiliar with (played my first proper battle with Chaos yesterday). This has been a problem that myself and my opponents have long experienced with all versions of Epic, especially as time spent scanning lists slows the action down. It's the nature of the beast because the armies encompass such a wide variety of infantry & vehicles (not that I'm complaining about that!).

But I was thinking, if the full lists were on Excel, it would allow players to customise the tables to include only the units they would be fielding in that particular battle, making referencing simpler, quicker and a little easier on the eye.

Has anyone ever done this, and if so, is there a link to these?

Haven't seen anything myself, but there might be something from an early version of the rules that can be modified?
Now if you are asking for something like an army builder which allows you to select the units you want and give you an army list with all the stats for the units you have picked in a nice prepared list ... that might take a little more work. Though I have been working on a titan builder spreadsheet which does something like that just don't tell anyone

Or someone could try and find the time to make those army cards he said he was going to do!

I'm not advanced enough with my spreadsheet knowledge to know how to do that.
I was more thinking about copy and pasting on to a new sheet, then printing that off for the battle!

I'm not volunteering to do it , but I have thought about creating a similar spreadsheet. I have already created an excel inventory for all the armies I own.

Well I tried just copying the summary tables from the marine army book into excel, but the formatting means the unit info all appears in a single cell, but ... I may have just stumbled on a way that would allow the tables to be put into an excel document, with everything in its own box and just a little bit of tidying required and no need to play around with complicated delimiting functions. If I get the time I will have a play over the weekend or next week and let people know

I have some sheets in excel that are for SM2 that i edit so have my army stats on, if you want them.

I've also produced a custom stats sheet in Excel for my own army list(s). Being a relative beginner I found myself checking the book so often it was annoying me, never mind my opponent. I use Net EA lists by the way.

Is there any way of creating a 'cloud' excel document on which people could contribute? It would be great to be able to have one source for all of this but I doubt any one person would be willing/should produce it alone, particularly for differing systems. I'd be happy to put in some time to collaborate in it's production.

My technical ignorance is beginning to show again - I don't know how to post Excel documents here, let alone how you would go about creating Cloud Excel docs!

While I'm personally keen to get the NetEpic Gold tables, think Stu's Idle's point is a good one, it would very really nice to have a resource available for every version of the game.

Great that DNME has SM2 covered already!

You could upload an Excel file to a post using the attachment option at the bottom of the reply screen, so that's not difficult. As far as a cloud version goes though, I've no idea how that would work.

Excel doesn't work with the attachment button here - there is some way to do it but it involves Dropbox which I do have but don't understand one little bit! When doing my campaign rosters I had to work around posting by converting Excel to PDF...

i can post using a link to the cloud on my hotmail, so easy enough to access that way

Wouldn't it be safer just to convert the Excel files to PDF anyway once they've all be completed? PDF documents are somewhat more secure after all.
