Hi Guys,

has anyone got any rules for artillery shooting at units with sheilds and also shooting at things with hit locations (like gargants and titans)???

Thanks

Hi!

I not sure I am interpreting your question correctly, but artillery shots versus shielded units and units with templates function the same as direct shots (excluding scatter of course).

Thus, you hit a shielded unit one shield goes down unless its special rules dictate and additional effect. In this sense its no better than a direct shot. Tactically its inefficient to target shielded units with artillery. Direct shots are better.

Against an unshielded target with a template, you hit and roll for scatter on the template of the unit just like a direct shot.

Basically artillery is for massed targets, be they infantry or vehicles or buildings for that matter. They are usually highly inefficient versus shielded and template units since they are no better than direct fire shots for those units.

This is intended as artillery has its role as direct fire has its role.
