Post subject:  Which units do you NOT like in Epic?

I thought it might be interesting to find out if there were units that players had a real dislike of.

For me, I absolutely loathed the Imperator Titan and the Mega Gargant. It took all of the strategy out of the game and meant that either it all came down to a shooting match or trying to ignore them and using fast-moving units to steal all objectives for a quick win.

I also didn't like the knights as it made me feel like I was playing 40K and not Epic.

I can't say I didn't like them as I never really played them but I never liked the idea of flyers as they felt a bit too powerful and again it distracted from the strategic nature of the game (which I love). Maybe I should have a look again at the rules and think about getting some...

I hate the warp hunters
awful fireing mode less effective
nice models though.

I do like knights but they are difficult to play
average armour(bad for their size)
We used them for Nid hunting(titans)

I love flyers
but they are tricky to play

thay can only shoot during advanced which means evry Inf. and AA unit in range gets a chance
they also have bad armour and are expensive.

If I take flyers I use them only in 2 ways
1st take some units and play them very carefull
priority is to keep them out of range of ANY threat

2nd way is to take a lot of flyers
calculate 50% losses for turn 1 but then.... ;D

Don't like Knights, the designs more than anything ... use Star Wars AT-STs instead. They look like better IMO. Titans ... generally we didn't always use them. When Titans were deployed we developed protocols. Titans are used as mobile fire support platforms. Like warships providing fire support for ground forces. Titans only moved to get a better shot. No close combat weapons, ranged weapons only. Titans are priority targets. All firepower including your Titan(s) is used to neutralize enemy Titans. With airstrikes and off-board firepower plus any ground units in range pound the Titans to gain Titan Superiority. And free up ground units to manuever freely. Similar to Air Superiority. With aircraft, we don't play Air2Air(CAP) only CAS and AAA ... My 2 Cents ... ;D

I tend ignore titans and just move around them. Plans works unless I play Yak52's ad mech titan legion army :(.

speaking from SM2 experience...

mekboy speedsters + Thraka's Waargh = easy devastating assault
weirdboy tower (a.k.a 'nob-rocket' lol) :( risk/reward imbalance
ball-shot :( very easy to skittle a warlord
