Post subject: | Shooting at a deep-striking unit |
In the past old days (Space Marine/Titan Legion), there were only 2 units with the deep-strike ability: Space Marines drop pods and Tyranid mycetic spores. Those 2 units had in their description a small sentences telling any units on first fire could shoot at those dropping-from-the-sky units without any penalty (so no -1 to-hit roll for snap firing). Nowadays in NetEpic, many new units have appeared and some of them also have the deep-strike ability: Space Marine Landing craft, Imperial Dropship, Ork Landas... In the description of those units, nothing is mentionned about firing penalty so here is my question: As per the drop pods/mycetic spores can any unit in first fire shoot at those deep striking units without penalty or do they suffer the -1 snap firing penalty ? Thanks in advance for your help ![]() |

If there is no unit specific rule to the contrary, snap fire penalties will apply. |

as i understand imperial dropship rule, it takes 1 turn for a dropship to land so it will be a little curious to snap fire at it isn't it ? tomtom |

You essentially shoot at the landing point, so no snap fire is required. Note the Dropship is a special case with a set of rules all its own. I guess it is a large, slowly falling rock with guns ![]() |
