Hi !

A debate on Epic french board.

When a flyer use a deep strike, can be land in the same turn ? An example : the SM Dropship.

In the rules of the deep strike : a unit using a deep strike must be in advance order.

In the rules of flyers : a flyer can be land only if it is in first fire order.

So, a flyer using a deep strike can be waiting the next turn to be in first fire to land or can be land in the turn which he come in deep strike ?

Deep strike rules overule its status as a flyer. It starts off board with Advance orders and deep strikes.

Once its on the board, if in subsequent turns it decides to take off again, the Flyer rules apply, so if it wanted to land again it would need First Fire orders.

Thanks for your reply Zap.

Another questions about the Imperial Dropship:

- Is it a flyer ?
- Must it appear on the table following its special rule developped in its decription (appear in any compulsary move, must stay one turn in the air before landing etc...) or can it land like any flyer (-1 to be hit...) if it does not "deep strike" (as deep-strike is not mentionned in the stats).

No, it's not a flyer. It can only enter the board using its' special rules. Once landed, it is treated like a Praetorian as described.

This is the conclusion we reached on epic-fr after 4 pages of discussion.

In the Mechanicus Gold Codex (and 5.2 too), it would be cool to replace the 100cm move in the unit template page and in the stats table by "special".

It's cool to see you're back Zap :)

Good suggestion on the move. Add that one to the Gold errata list!
