Imho, each vehicle should fire separatly, if the 3 tanks are in a compagny (contains 3 detachments of 1 tank and 1 is a CHQ) as all SHT IG company

Indded sounds right.
What do you mean 4 or 6 BP per vehicle?

I am ok with your suggestion about the Foehammer missiles
what do you think about the Pilum AA missiles?

We could also change them to a low "attack dice(1), "good "to hit"(3+),
high impact(TSM-2) weapon

We should also add:
"declare at the start of each turn which weapon is used"

Yes, this should be added.

Also about missiles choices, it could be a solution to try to compare them with titan weapons:

- titan MRL cost 75 points with a 12cm shotgun mode close to the firestorm missile
- titan AA cerberus cost 40 points with a AA gun close to the profile I proposed, bringing it to 3 attack dices and you have a 60 point pillum missile
- titan volcano cannon cost 100 points, by reducing to hit, TSM and penetrating values by one point and you should get a 75-60 points foehammer missile

This way, you'd get 3 missiles that should be balanced in cost and power :)

Good points about the Titan weapons.
You mean something like this: 75+60+75>210(200 rounded) per vehicle
Then make a suggestion about each 3 and the point costs
The only thing I am after is, that the pilum will not end in a missile hydra.
If it is, it will be useless IMO.

Hi, no no no, I do not mean adding weapon values, vehicle can't fire them all each round, just trying to find a correct balance between weapons.

If the tank weapons were titan weapons and costed the same, you can consider they are balanced.

About the pillum, I've no problem with the profile you proposed but imho, a lot of 6+ attack dices is not really valuable (many players prefers 1 attack dice hitting on a 2+ than 5 attacks dices hitting on a 6+ even if stats are the same).

Here sre the new stats
IMO it´s a good(but not too powerfull) and unique unit

Move 10cm
Armour 2+
CAF +3

Weapons:
Heavy bolters
Attack dice 2
Range 25cm
to hit 5+
TSM +0

Praetor heavy assault launcher:

penetrates +1

Firestorm missiles
Attack dice 6BP
Range 150cm
to hit 6BP
TSM -1

Pilum AA-missile system
Attack dice 5
Range 100cm
to hit 6+
TSM -2
ignore any "to hit" modifers
Notes: super heavy
Morale Value 4+
PD(4)

Declare at the start opf each turn which weapon is used

About the Helios Land Raider variant, I think just adding the cost of the whirwind weapon to the standard LR chassis would have been simpler. After all, it's just a land raider with a whirlwind missile launcher mounted on the back.

Land Raider Helios
Move 20cm
Amour save 2+
CAF +3

Weapons:
TWL Las cannon
attack dice 2
range 75cm
to hit 5+
TSM -2

Helios missile launcher
attack dice @2BP
range 150cm
to hit varies
TSM -0

Morale value 2+
transports 2 stand
PD(1)

3 per detachment
350 points

And you're right Ulric. Sorry, I did not check the 40K profile before replying. In fact, I scratchbuilt a Helios Land Raider years ago and build the profile I proposed but I never checked it's 40K profile, I just looked the weapons on it ::)

So the limited transport capacity -tranport(1)- you proposed is OK even if in the game, this does not fit anything :/ So maybe transport capacity would reduce the profile I proposed to 325 instead of 350 points.

Yeah transport capacity isn´t fitting anything
but with 2 detachments you can transport a det. Space Marines
it´s okay IMO
also reduced the CAF due to being more a fire support tank
and to match the point level of other variants

But with 2 detachments, you're not allowed to transport 1 infantry det ;)

About the cost, I usually prefer playing with the cost too than trying to get all variants the same cost. If a tank is better, it should just cost more.

:nooo Hmm I am always doing this in netepic
there is no other way to transport a Squat warrior detachment

(Ork) Speedsta with Deff Ray 100pts
Move 20+2D6
Armour (Special Mekboy Speedsta rules)
Deff Ray 100cm 1 Attack Dice 4+ to hit -3 Save Modifier Penetrating -1

Basically an equivalent of the E40k Speeder with Death Ray

Hi!

Yup! The major use for the optionals book will no doubt be the errata section. :)
