A decent question got raised in our Friday nighter. Does the Lord of Battles count as a titan? My first thought was yes, but a literal reading of what's there so far suggests no. This is a fairly big deal in NetEpic, and a no answer would decrease the utility of the LoB greatly. What do people think? |

It was a Titan... and the only reason why scale ever came into question was when Praetorians with damage tables where (rightly) introduced... I would say the LoB is more manoeuvrable than a Praetorian and if made Praetorian it would be crippled by the Max Move, Always First Fire (Can't do because it is a Khorne Daemon Engine) and the decrees in turn arc... We had changed Scout Titans into a sub class unable to pin main battle Titans. The LoB landed up here too due to physical scale. So it kept it's Titan Point Defence, turn arc, ability to be given Charge or Advance fire without contradicting the Khorne Daemon Engine rules. |

Morning, do you guys actually use the LoB in your games? Have you found a way to use it effectively as it is? Because last weekend I played a test game (IG vs. Chaos), and got the impression that it was crap  ![]() The LoB cost my opponent 550 points (death Storm and Doom Burner) and it was by now means worth the cost. 2 shots from the doomsday cannon were enough to destroy it. The first one blinded it, which my pal was able to repair at the end of the turn tough, but the 2nd shot killed it off. We found it strange that it has no shields at all. ok, i know, it gets those khornate boni, but only after turn 2, or not? even a warhound has 2 shields It is also awfully slow (same movement than a warlord). Worst of all, it seems to have also an outdated damage table, which mentions the "mandatory movement phase" and has some other strange points. (for example if you hit a weapon, only destroyed and blown off are possible results, the ususal damaged/crippled/destroyed structure is missing, making it easy to kill off) any thoughts or hints on this? cheers sanjuro |

@Sanjuro: LoB is also a greater daemon, chaos player can use chaos reward cards before rolling on damage table to cancel the damage roll. About the initial question, I'd say it's more a titan than a praetorian... |

Thanks scream, I did not see that. That changes a lot. However, maybe somebody should have a look at the damage table anyway, since it looks a bit outdated to me. At least the weapons should get a damaged on a roll of 1 or 2. What do you think? ah, and to add my 2 cents to the discussion: clearly a titan ![]() |

One of the things I would like to do is to convert the tables from D6 to D10. |

Also remember that it gets the Khorne benefits if you are leading on VPs (+1 to hit, +1 to saves, +D6 to CAF). Mine went within a whisker of almost single handedly knocking out a Warlord on Friday when I was ahead on points. Deathstorm on 4+ is pretty awsome and the Doomburner is a good titan killer. Their biggest weakness is not being able to FF, but if it's decided it is a Titan than that largely dissappears as a vulnerability too ![]() Oh, and try one with 2 Chain Fists ![]() |

Yeah, true. The Khorne boni turn the wheelchair of battle into a dangerous weapon, i guess. Thanks for helping me out on this. ![]() @ Dwarf Supreme: That sounds awesome. How are you planning to do this? Are you going for more different results on the damage table or for a different distribution of the existing ones? cheers sanjuro |

Are you going for more different results on the damage table or for a different distribution of the existing ones? Possibly both. By switching to D10 I can introduce more, less severe critical hits and change the distribution. What prompted me to do this is the critical hit table for the Warlord's reactor. I understand that critical hits should be just that, critical, but I don't like that the catastrophic meltdown can occur often. So, I decided to try my hand at rewriting the critical hits. I'll try to dig up the thread I started about two years ago. |

It would make weapons with damage bonuses all the more useful. DS, if you are able would you tackle this d10 conversion for ALL titans in the game? I would really like to include this in the final drafts of netepic gold's optional book and perhaps pitch it as a core rules change in the future. Let me know. Regarding the LOB it IS a titan. ![]() Primarch |

I had thought about doing the same for Praetorians too, but I decided to leave them as is. |

Although they seem to need it less, for uniformity sake, its good for all of them to be d10 based. If you like, post here what you got an we'll delve into it. ![]() Primarch |
