Possessed Chaos Space Marine
(Support card, 5x stands, 250 points, BP 3 Morale 1+)

15cm, 4+fixed save, +5 Caf, Bolt Pistol/Chain Sword  25cm  x1  5+ -0 (Fear, Negate +4, Elite.)

Chaos Marines blah, blah... possessed by Daemon blah blah... more resilient to damage or Daemonic instability hence the Negate and Fixed save blah blah... badass stats blah blah... you get the idea.  :vD

Proposed for just a bit of choice and flavour. There are lots of new units and NetEpic has some catching up to do... blah blah...

I thought they were all more or less possessed already.  Mutated at least.

What's Negate +4  ??

Oops, Negate is my term for a Psychic Save... I made it shorter for my tables and forgot to change it for posting.

Nah, as the 40K description has it (IIRC) some of the CSM have bargained a time share deal with a Daemon in order to gain more power. The Daemon gains protection from banishment due to the mortal shell, hence the 4+ Negate (Psychic Save) ...while the Marine gains mucho strength and toughness.

4+ fixed save ? Seems quite high, better than a terminator armor.

It's a Daemon possessing a Chaos Space Marine in Space Marine Power Armour... mucho tough hombre! ...Ok, ok, 300 points then. They can't teleport and have to get across the table and into trouble somehow... any suggestions?..

Minor Daemons tend to have 4+ (not fixed) saves, and CSMs 5+.  I think perhaps 4+ rather than 4+f would possibly be the interpretation?  How do the Possessed compare to Horrors/Bloodletters/Daemonettes for toughness/armour (if that's what 40K uses these days   ) in 40K?

Why the higher speed?  I also find Fear hard to understand.  How are they more fearful than normals CSMs, Bloodletters, Horrors or Deamonettes?

I think 4+ and 10cm move are possibly more fitting; could go either way on Fear.  Maybe 250 for 5 without, 300 for 5 with Fear?  Purchasable as a minion for any GD?  (i.e new support card for each of the 4 major powers?)  Word Bearers too?

From the 40K description...

Motivated by either a deep devotion to their infernal masters or an unquenchable lust for power some Chaos Space Marines allow themselves to be possessed by Chaos Daemons. Each pact is different but Chaos Space Marines never entirely give up their self-will and normally remain the master in the blasphemous symbiotic relationship. When the stench of blood is in the air though the Daemon within them is far more powerful and the Possessed become even more bestial.

*After some more checking...* ...Yeah, the toughness is comparable to the Daemons themselves in 40K except they get the choice of either the same save as a Marine or the fixed save of a Daemon... not sure that would make any noticeable difference here. This is called a Daemonic Aura. I guess a 4+ save would be suitable.

They also have Daemonic Strength in 40K which to my mind means they are better at close combat and they also get to chose one Daemonic Ability from a 40K list...
Daemonic Flight... (as jetpack in Epic, 15cm ignore terrain in movement?)
Daemonic Talons... (as Talons Reward Card in Epic, +1 Caf?)
Daemonic Fire... (as 1x Point Defence in Epic?)
Daemonic Visage... (as Fear in Epic?)
Daemonic Mutation (as a Chaos reward Card in Epic? Taken from the unused Chaos Card deck and used once as per the cards instructions on this detachment alone and then discarded)

I was trying to cut out the above table while staying true to the idea. May have went a bit too far though. The Psychic save is from something else... I think I got the idea from the Daemon Princes in NetEpic.

Basic Possessed Marine

10cm, 4+ save, +5 Caf, Bolt Pistol/Chain Sword  25cm  x1  5+ -0 (Negate +4, Elite)

Should they be allowed some of the options in the 40K table? They seem fairly pointless without it now.

They seem a pretty decent unit and would give some of the non-Khorne factions CC muscle.  Not pointless.  Perhaps one Deamonic ability per major power (15cm move for Tzeentch, Visage for Slaanesh, random reward chard for Nurgle, Fear for Khorne)?

Well, that would make sense and be fitting with the rest of Epic. I like this idea and the faction suggestions. What about Undivided factions? Talons +1Caf or Fire +1xPD... not sure if I like the PD one.
