Simple comparisons between Chaos Marines (5 for 150 : 30pts each) and Tactical Space Marines (6 for 200 : 33.33r each) make the chaos force seem underpriced. Compared to the tactical troops they have better CAF and shoot better. They also fire a shot capable of downing void shields.

Admittedly they die just as easily when fired upon, but I would think that the above goes a fair way towards demonstrating that they are more powerful and therefore should cost as much if not more. I think they should be priced at perhaps 200 for 5.

Other than that I think the 4th edition rules are awesome and would like to thank all the contributors. The rules and army lists are not only better than the original GW ones, but are also accessable.

Hi BCarlisle, nice to see another v4 NetEpic fan. You are spot on it is awesome.  :))

The 150 point cost however has been fixed since (exactly as you said it should) and NetEpic is on v5... soon to be NetEpic Gold.  I'm at work just now... what, I'm on a break but hopefully someone will be along and post a link to the rules on the Wiki... if not I'll do what I can when I get home.

Welcome to TacComm mate.

In the last Chaos Codex (vailable on the wiki), CSM cost 200 points. They are better than Tactical SM but tactical SM get one more stand and they have 3 rhinos to transport them.

While we're talking about CSM:

- Standard CSM detachment costs 200 points
- Veteran CSM detachment costs 200 points page 19 (they have infiltrate ability and a better moral)
- Veteran CSM detachment costs 250 points page 25 (they have the same stats than the ones page 19)

It's surely a typo...

They have always been 200 points, so I to hope the 250 is a typo. If not then Vet CSM are soon to be extinct as a choice in battles.

If the CSM costs 200 and the Veteran costs 200, it's the extinct of standard CSM. Standard CSM should cost 200 and veteran 250.

Edit: why do people wanna play with the 4th Edition while the V5.2 Lists are available and corrected a bunch of typos ? The older editions are not supported anymore...

I can work through and reason out typos but when there are no typos and I can't agree with the costs or composition of the companies etc then I go back to what I like... v4. I didn't need support before when playing against other like minded folk but now I am also playing against new players who use v5 so I have no choice, evolve or die... or at least evolve or don't get to play a game with the new guys anyway.

If the CSM costs 200 and the Veteran costs 200, it's the extinct of standard CSM. Standard CSM should cost 200 and veteran 250.
Damn, I was trying to be obtuse but I can see you have rumbled me. Is it too late to say I liked CSM standard at 150 points? Kidding!..   Sorry Scream, you are right...

CSM standard 200 points
CSM Vets 250 points... but I think they should have 4+ Caf to bring them into line with Loyal Marine Vets. It's a lot to pay for just Infiltrate, which isn't very useful for 10cm movers IMO
