Howdy folks.

A small question about the Squat landtrain battlecars....

They cost 200 for 3 of em.

for that you can get for example a Rad-bomb car, mortar car and the berserker car with 5 troop stands.. (if you have the dragon car with the train)

Berserkers cost 150 if you buy them as a seperate card.

To the question - The berserkers... Do they give any kind of victory points if they are broken?

And - do they have to start in the train itself, within coherency or anywhere in deploy area?

I have always played this as you would Terminators in the Titan Corvus Arm/Head.
The troops have the normal stats and break point, morale etc of a normal detachment. They do not need to keep in formation with the transport but do have to start the battle within it. However no victory points are awarded for breaking them. I always assumed their value to be represented by the cost of the Corvus or in this case Land Train battlecar detachment and that the VP awarded would be awarded for destroying the transporting unit.

Perhaps some people may feel this is overpowered but this type of unit rarely makes much impact on a battle IMO with the exception of claiming Objectives.

That was how I figured it worked aswell.

So there is nothing that stops a player from buying a squadron of rhinos to change transports.

In one turn the berserkers can then..

Leave train - enter rhino - later leave rhino. Total movement should then be 50-10=40(for entering and leaving) rhino movement and 20-5-5-5 for the bersekers. they can therefore move a total of 45 from their start position.

45 cm.. Into the fray.. Not too shabby.. Dont ya think?

If they started in the rhinos this would be 45+15 =60 cm.

Sorry to burst the bubble Pettan but if you have a read of the Core Rules for NetEpic v4.1 it states under Transport Vehicles on Page 14...
Models may not embark and disembark in the same turn.

This means your Berserkers would have to Exit the Land Train at some point and embark on the Rhino's in the next turn.
I know you want to make use of the Free unit but as I said before it is limited as to it's uses.

Check NetEpic v5.1 (I can't download it for some reason) it may have different rules or wording.

Wow. I was just bonked in the head by the rulebook. Hope I can make a comeback in the near future. ;)

Good catch Warhead.

LOL   Sorry! I didn't mean to sound so pompous. I was too excited thinking I knew the answer and forgot to soften the blow. I do hope I haven't broken anything.

If it's any consolation I burst out laughing at work and got queer looks from my colleagues when I first read your reply. They thought I was having a fit. Nice one.

Naah, dont worry. I´ve had worse before. You should see me around the ladies. *shivers*

I guess that...Models may not embark and disembark in the same turn.

Means that they cannot disembark and embark either...

Should have that in EA too. Just because the vehicle moves trice as fast doesn't mean it's a good idea to disembark it... :O

Means - May only Embark OR Disembark in any one turn.

Glad to see you up and about P   Hey does this mean wumin (women) in Sweden have rule books?! It must read like a High-Fi manual mate.  :p

Hi Erik M,
I honestly don't know enough about EA but it must make for a very fast and mobile game. That may account for the reduced ranged fire of most units too. (Compared to NetEpic). E40K was similar then? I've been peeking at the EA posts and BatReps and although intrigued, the similarity to E40K puts me off.

Hopefully this can be fixed if you are correct Warhead. I have never done that but I can see it happen in games.

Har!

Obviously you are setting your sights too high P'Man. Try ugly women. They tend to have less options and so are more grateful. I also suggest using very thick 'beer goggles' most things look prettier when looked through a haze of beer.

Hope that's not an invitation P'Man. I'm strictly butter side up.  :))

Aagh, so sure of yourself young fella'me'lad.    I would gladly take the challenge and extend my own if you care to cross the water and travel to Scotland at any time.  :agree:

Yes but unfortunately the roles are reversed in my case as I always end up getting asked. So I must be fairly ugly.  :_(
