Hello, another cost question. Ready the latest chaos army book, it appears that hell talons Isn't the hell talon a bit expensive? The problem is the different AA power depending of the army. Against orks, you cannot harm it with a doomdiver magna cannon, but against hydra or firestorm, it's killed almost as easily as a thunderbolt  Maybe a "discount" for a pair would be a good idea. What do you think? |

Well the magna cannon is -2 against flyers. Right? Skimmer, Flier or other in-the-air thing - Save at ?2 TSM or smash into the ground.. It is very expensive and from where im sitting not that impressive although it is super heavy. A card for 2 of them with a 50 discount or 3 flyers with 100 discount sound fair. That would make it 650 for 2 or 950 for 3. /Pettan |

Just a short note. As far as I know. No other armies have company cards for flyers. The cheapie are 3/ card and the nasty ones 1/card /P-man |

In fact, i've made a mistake (don't laugh !): since 2 years i was playing (or give to my opponents when i lend them my chaos army) a squadron of two for this price. Today as i was making an update of my army lists thanks to the latest version of netepic army book, i figure it's the price for only one I'm a bit surprised because against regular army (marines, IG, eldars) they can be boring but that was not a big advantage, and i don't often field them, thinking they are not so useful: against a beginner it's the perfect thing, he'll try to shoot it with everything he can, while your beasts are advancing without problems, but if you haven't got AA guns you can just ignore it for a while. I'd like to see it at max for 600 a pair. But that's just my thoughts, i'd like to now if other chaos player think the same, don't want to change a rule for myself only ! |

It doesn't look that impressive, though under the standard flyer rules it would be nearly invulnerable. It would be paying big for that CAF and Superheavy...but I probably wouldn't play one except for fun. A pair at 600 wouldn't be destablising I dont think. |

I think that's the Helltalon quantity is a typo I re-read the discussion about the cost and stats and it's surely 350 points for 2 helltalons. As they are packaged in a blister of 2 by ForgeWorld, 350 points could be OK for a unit of 2. |
