I've played a couple of games of Netepic now (3 all up...), and I'm still coming to terms with some of the mechanics. One that has me puzzled right now is Barrage Points. I understand that for the majority of barrage weapons, you add up barrage points for the unit, stick down a template, and your chance to hit is determined by the BP involved. But, some weapons have Barrage Points listed in their attak dice, as well as a fixed to hit number (i.e. Eldar Titan missile Wings, Eldar Phoenix Bombers, Ordinatii etc). What exactly is the point of this? For instance, an Eldar Phoenix Bomber produces 4BP, but lists a to-hit of 4+...4BPs should make the to-hit 5+. Is the phoenix more accurate? If so, what is the point in listing the BPs at all? |

Hi! The point is that these weapons cannot be "added" with other similar units to create larger better effects. In essence they are "isolated" attacks per model and not combined per unit/detachments. On the other hand I wonder if there are some typos (hey after 10 years updated this we still find them) and its just a mistake. I will look into it. Primarch |

I understand that you can't combine some barrages, that makes sense. But, why have a to-hit number at all if you have BPs, when right now, the only mechanic relying on barrage points is working out what number you need to hit? It would be different if the BPs also gave you template size, or TSM, or something. |

BP also means that any unit under the 6cm template can be hit, instead of just one. Most codex show xBP@ for barrage that combine, and xBP for independant barrage. Number of BP and to-hit should be in coherency. The current (5.1) Eldar codex indicates 8BP / 3+ to-hit for the Phoenix, or 4BP / 5+ to-hit for Nightwings. Both seems correct. |

Ah, good point. yogozuno you got the latest version of netepic? We are currently doing netepic gold and much has been corrected. I feel that some things you mention are typos/errors of previous versions. Let me know. Primarch |

They can be found on the NetEpic Yahoo group. ?I have passed on the corrected Lists to the powers that be but they haven't been placed up on netepic.org yet. (hint hint ![]() |
