Chaos Marines are as you want them, you decide. I use them as you have them. You want them to look Chaosy... is that a word?... so mixed works fine. It's how GW did it back in the days of SM2.

The Land Raider, Leman Russ were all 200 points and IMO weren't worth even that they were so bad at shooting stuff. Amazingly they got dearer and not cheaper. I had nothing to do with it, I wasn't here then. It's codswallop is what it is. I changed my stats (Land Raiders hit on 4+ and all round armour) and cut the price on the Russ to 175 points. Officially your stuck with the sucky price for sucky stats. The Predator sucks too. I change my stats again so now I can take Predator Destructors and Annihilators for 175 points.

The Warhound weapon could be the Turbo Laser or it could be the Vulcan Mega Bolter from the description. is the barrel smooth or lined with ridges. If it has ridges it's the Vulcan. If not then it's the Turbo Laser.

The Rus's are paying a penalty for the 4+ to hit which is pretty uncommon in Imperial medium tanks.  Predators have always been a great bargain, but they do suffer from a low CAF and no PD.  The points seem fair to me.

Finally made 2 armies of my own, they prolly suck but I tried to cram in as many chaos powerstands as possible, what do you all think?
(I made them so that I would be able to play them both at once)
Still thinking of changing the Doomwings for another Firelord but not sure what to change in the Khorne part to get the extra 50p that change would need... perhaps remove 1 juggernaught and put on 1 more Doom Burner on the lord of battle + Androids or Rhinos ...

btw, Mark of nurgle on trolls with rhino transports seems kinda evil, even though its 575p! for them =)

The Khorne/Tzeentch one looks pretty good, though of course fluff-wise the two would never play nicely together :)

The Slaanesh/Nurgle one looks kinda dud though.  I'd drop some of the smaller detachments and add in the Emperors Children and Death Guard centuries with Rhino support.  I think you had enough CSMs to do it.  Never underestimate the Chaos Marines...they are fantastic all rounders.

A small Slaanesh force in support of other Chaos Powers is a cheap way of getting those Chaos Reward Cards and a Powerful Greater Daemon. The Fiends are just slow cavalry but handy none the less.

Give your lists a try. Battle is the ultimate test.

I were looking through the Blood Angels rules and wondered abit about the Death Company
are Scouts considered infantry units (in that 1 of em goes into the death company and gets upgraded stats)
or only marines?

and even though they get a Sanguinary priest
the ordinary Apothecary isnt a prohibted card .. does that mean I can take the cheaper Apothecary if I want?

made this list as I realized I have 4 warhounds with laser destructors on em, and lots of tacticals with nothing to do...
Its lacking ALOT of things like AA and prolly to light on anti-tank/titan stuff but ...

I think it looks fine. Why not make one of the Tacticals into your Scouts (just paint them different) or must you have it looking perfect? The Warhounds are the same. Some people allow you to just say what's on them so long as it's written down before hand.

If not then sure I still think it looks ok. The Titans will be good shield strippers and mobile anti-tank units. The Death Company could use a better way of getting amongst the enemy than just Jet Packs though. Two Tactical units is a bit redundant but they should be quite sturdy. Can't you swap one out for a Reaver or something? You need some heavy hitters... and maybe an AA unit.

From what ever I have read in the past, I feel the Scouts should be allowed to become Death Company as they are just as susceptible to the Thirst as are any of the older Marines. I believe you are also ok to purchase an Apothecary too.

The Deathcompany gets free rhinos to transport them all
and the assault veterans also have rhinos, so they are pretty mobile
so using the rhinos they can all charge 40cm (45 for the assaults)

I prolly have some other titan weapons that I could stick on the warhounds, but I dont have any reaver =/
and I havent realy found a good warhound weapon combo... I'd love it if I had had 2 chainfists to put on 1 of them but I dont =D

Hey Malleus,

I play Marines as well and found the following weapon combos for my Warhounds quite effective:

The Firepower Dude: 2 Quake Cannons - nice firepower, but you cannot snapfire. I use this one in small battles.

vs. orcs: Vulcan Mega Bolter and Laser Burner a lot of attack dice, but you have to be close to the foe, charging in Turn 1 any clan you can reach (nice when the orc player has those transporting super heavies with triple charge  :vD), and FF in Turn 2. Orcs don't like it.  

vs eldar: 1 quake cannon and Chain fist: yeah, charge those pesky chicken leg titans. revenants are no match for a warhound with a chain fist, and you even stand a good chance in assaulting a phantom! At least you will pinn it, so it won't fire. And even if you don't get to them: Last game my Eldar opponent had his Phantoms on FF for the first time, because he feared being charged (which means a very friendly holo-field with only a save of 4+, devastators love it  :laugh: )

Well, don't give up on ever getting a Reaver. This is Epic, we tend to end up buying it all at some point anyway.  :))

I like sanjuro's weapon combo Warhounds. If you want chain fists for your Warhounds why not look at some of the 40K stuff it would look great.

I kinda like Warhounds with 2 TLDs!  It was probably the best loadout for a Warhound in the old days, and gives a lot of firepower and at good range so you are not as likely to get smushed.  Two Warhounds and 4 TLDs = a lot of pain for any enemy light or medium titan and can even give Warlords a scare!  Using Screams' awesome calculator, here's the 2 Warhounds against a Phantom on Advance orders:

I just found an old box of an old swedish game called Ronin Wars which have models that look decidedly Knightish, so I were thinking of putting them together with all the warlord titans I have for a titan legion army
either:
2250~ Warlord Titan Battle Group

exact loadout on the titans arent fixed I guess =)
I'd need to go and buy 2 more packs of the little knightpacks but they are only $3-$4 each so no biggie

From the two choices I would choose number one... however, what happens if the objectives are placed in buildings or terrain that is hard to access without infantry? (Titan Corvus..?)

I'd need to know more about the Warlord Weapons too. My preference is one missile, one plasma cannon or destroyer, one wrecker one chain fist and one head... devotional bell if against chaos and I have the points.

Malleus, post a pic of these lucky finds please.

:sigh:  (SM2 days 1500 battlegroup + 500 warhounds + 550 paladin + 550 lancers = 3100 points... inflation... it's a bugger)

Ah, the good old days, when GW maths said that 900+900+900 = 1500  :p

Yup, first one gives you a bit more flexibility.  As WH said though, if there are any objectives in buildings you'll at best be able to contest them, unless you knock down the building.  So, your loadout should include anti-building weapons, and depending on opponent, you may need to put some AA weapons on one of your Titans too.  A favourite flyer trick is zooming out of arc and shooting up titans from behind...you will be outnumbered so the Flyer can always wait until all your titans have moved before selecting where to attack.

Sure, I'll glue 1 of em together and take a pic (I havent been able to find a real pic anywhere on the internet =)

and ofcourse I'll prolly have all kinds of problems (not the least against flyers), but would it be a viale army fielding 3-4 warlords with an assortment of weapons, with only knights as beefers...
the reason for no infantry was mostly because I dont have any imperial guards.. that and It looks cool comming to the table with 19 figs at 4k ;D
