Hi Primarch,

could I suggest including unit stats with the company cards. So when a player is designing thier army they just cut and paste and have the stats conveniently under the card heading. That was the main reason I did it. It takes a bit mroe work initiallly but saves alot of work in the long run.
Thanks for your hard work.

Hi!

Just the company cards? Or all cards?

Format the file like you did yours?

Hi!

I will convert the SM and the IG one to your format. Would you like separate files for each army, or all in one file different tabs?

Hi!

Okay. I will first edit the SM and IG one to your format.

Then I will continue with other lists.

One question. I am basically self teaching myself to use excel. How do you get to negative numbers in the same cell without them "adding" to each other?

Every time I try to place two save modifiers in the cell (lets say -2 and -3 on two different lines in the same cell), they "add" to -5. I can figure out how to tell it not to do that.

Any help appreciated.

Hmm, mine doesn't do that, but...

Place your cursor over the offending cell and right click. Then select "Format cells". From there select the "Number" tab and then select "Text". Hopefully that will do the trick!

Not sure if it works for excel, but in OpenOffice one can put an apostrophe (a ' ) before a number to cause it to display exactly as typed. This is how I got the CAF and to hit values to display with their plus sign. Similarly, I used this for the line entries that had multiple weapons and thus multiple ranges, attacks, and TSM per unit, adding spaces between the numbers as needed.

Hi!

As I ready to update the format I looked carefully at the one you did and I would suggest several changes.

1. Instead of repeating the words "company card", etc I will make one block designation like I did in mine and highlight them with a color. Its less redundant that way.

2. You listed under contents the troop type and number. I think that is confusing, since the contents are the number of detachments and HQ in the card. The troop type should be a separate line with the number of models, then the stats.

3. You put the break point, morale and VP in the same column as move, save and CAF. A bit confusing. I will separate them.

In summary the format will be:

Name of card- contents- troop type with numbers- unit stats (move, attack dice, etc)- break point- morale- cost and VP.

It adds a couple of more columns, but all data will be in distinct areas. I may play around with more formats.

I suppose as long as card type and stats are together as you mentioned the specific location of data within that framework is okay?

Once all this is in spreadsheet format, is that enough to get it into a army builder module for net epic?

Thanks!

Primarch

Another way is to put a space in before what you want to type, excel then picks up that it is text in the cell so will display the characters and numbers.

For those who are interested, I had a go at rolling the formation and unit info into a single element that people could copy onto A4 sheets for army building like what Mr Blobby did for the squats. This is an example of what I have put together. Hopefully it is clear and easy to read.

Hi!

Nice! I like it better than what I was attempting.

Does this mean I don't need to finish the SM one? ;)

Let me know which ones (if any) you are tackling so as not to overlap efforts.

I can redo the IG one like this and the original squat one as well.

Yeah, I am doing things with the marine list, so I will produce these for the marines, haven't done them all yet, those are just a few examples. Will post up the Excel doc when I get done and you can use the template for the other armies.

I have also spent some time of some simple CCG sized army cards which I will post a picture of in due course.
