Im going to steal that idea of putting marines on the base, it looks realy good! ^_^
That would be E&Cs excellently painted Small Walking Robot.
Just to addess a couple of your other points:
1) The weapon tables: This annoys me a bit as well. I've tried squeezing this in various ways. Unfortunately I cannot fit it into a single page if there's also to be enough space for the header. Downsizing the font may help a bit, but that would make it inconsistent with the other books. However in the printed book these two tables will be on the same page spread, so it is only if you want to print out the tables seperately it becomes an issue. Having a few units on a second page is less than ideal, but I've yet to find a good way to avoid it

2) It is a great idea, but again space is going to be a problem I'm afraid. Those tables are already squeezed a lot to fit everything in there, and again if this was to be done across all books for consistency's sake it would mean quite a bit of extra work. I think one has to assume that a player has a fair grasp of the most common special rules for his army and only need to look up a handfull of special rules during normal gameplay...well unless you're an ork player of course...in which case some page flipping is necessary

If someone can come up with an elegant solution that wouldn't require adding a new column to the tables and with minimum effort could be implemented across all books I'm all ears though.
