Oh, he did have Warhounds.  I think one Warlord Battle Group, plus 2 "detachments" of Warhounds and a couple of Reavers IIRC.  It was a close and fun game (well, all the 1 shot missiles going off first turn wasn't so much fun).  The downside for me was there were units in my army that had almost no chance of hurting his stuff, but they were useful for taking objectives or denying him them.  In the end I think I won in the 3rd turn after toppling a couple of the Warlords and snatching 6 of 8 objectives.  If he had have taken a different mix of weapons though it might have been a lot uglier for me....he was firing Warp missiles at Basilisks for want of a better target and didn't have many multi-dice weapons to deal with all the infantry and cavalry I had :oo:

A perfect example of why you need to balance the weapon loads for Titans.

I think the most brutal army i've fought was a GI army.

6000 points game.
Frontline:

2 shadowswords company
1 baneblade company
2 leviathan full of assault ig company
1 gorgon company

then at the back of the table:
2 detachment of deathstrike
1 artillery company + an additionnal basilisk detachment

maybe more stuff i've forgot. Was playing a "just painted" chaos army, mostly because some models were cool, so quite poolry optimised.
Tactic was simple:

destroy the shields of my titans with deathtrike, blow them up with the shadowsword.
Leviathan slow down my cavalry and troops with the lots of assault bases, the artillery, baneblade and rest of the deathstrike destroy the rest of my army, while the gorgons advance to steal objectives.
Kinda brutal :)

That does look kinda harsh....though I always love seeing an Imperial army with a Leviathan....I love it when half their army goes out of command when I blow one up  :p

Hi

I like larger games, especially attack/defence scenarios.

I've got large Eldar, IG & Marine armies, (excluding my several titans), plus a small Squat one.

Typical IG attack formation is:

Support
3 Shadowsword Co's
Stormahmer Co
Stormhammer Det
Baneblade Det
4 Rocket Co's
2 Arty Co's
2 Whirlwind Det's
3 A/A Det's (Forgot name)

Recon

2 Bike Co's
1 Rough Rider Co
10 Sentinel Det's

Assault
Predator Co
Vindicator Co
Tech Gd Mech Co
Stormblade Co
2 L/Russ Co
5 Predator Det's
5 Vindicator Det's
2 Stormblade Det's
Demolisher Det
3 Landspeeder Det
10 Landraider Det's

Doesn't include Hvy Wpn & Inf support cards.

Probably wouldn't take it all (wouldn't fit on 6'x5' table)! But it's nice to have a choice. My Eldar force is probably at least as strong (the bit that's painted), and has far more infantry.

Not sure if you would call that brutal - but I'm used to gaming on a weekend over a bottle of something & takeaways......

Cheers
Paul H
