Hi Folks,

Just wanting to get a grip of my demographic and see what the outcome was... I mean... oh what's the use.

If you wish to leave a comment as to your preference of battle reporting style I would very much appreciate the feedback.

Thanks

I voted for Heroic but the plain fact is I'm happy with anything
Pics are essential and I do like the fluff/humour type commentary.

for my part, your report is close to the best there is. it's a bit chaotic because of the army size, but that's normal.

nice scenery by the way. right now we're playing on a blank board with some self-made hills and the buildings from sm2 ;).

Cheers.

Don't sweat it currsed. Until a few years ago we were using stacks of CD cases for forrests/woods and Video tape/CD case hills (stacked like an Aztec pyramid) with nothing but the carpet to sit the lads down on. Still is some of the best games I can remember.
Oh, and paper cut outs for roads, rivers and swamps too.

Wait till you see my attempt at Hive type complexes using the boards from Space Crusade and Lego roads and landing pads... oh, yeah... sad or what?..

Hmm, two votes for smaller battles without comment... I don't bite you know... well not hard.  :vD

Yeah, Big battles are a mess and I agree with the 4 - 5,000 points being a perfect size for battles of manoeuvre. However, I'm my own worst enemy when it comes to Grand Battles of gigantic proportions and tend to get carried away... in case you hadn't noticed yet.  :)) I'll attempt to vary the sizes a bit more in future for viewer pleasure... Large may equal dull to read and that wont do.

I have enjoyed small battles too. 2,000 points of PDF can go a long way when faced with 4,000 points of scary stuff. Lately however games have been rarer and so there is a keenness to play 'large' if that makes sense?

Keep voting/commenting, I need the insight.   ???

Morning everyone!

I am thankful for every Battle Report posted. That said, I think
pictures are very important. Fluff is nice, but not mandatory imho.
And as you all know, size does not matter

No, really. Small battles are fun for the tactical aspect, while huge battles are enjoyable as well.
I heartily enjoy humorous approaches.

So, when do we get the next Battle Report, Warhead?  :vD

DOH! People got no sense of humour. One(?!) vote for something pervey?

Anyhow, each has his own writing style. Not all are fluent scribblers.
A big nice report, as yours are, is a joy to read.
A small and congested report is also a joy to read.
From each his own. To each another nice battlereport.

Very True Erik... I just want to know if I'm on track.
I find it hard to gauge if what I post is worth while, off putting or annoying. So far I'm happy/encouraged with response. Cheers, I like it here.  :))

:vD  Sorry to disappoint mate...

Yes, you are.

The only thing that is a possible area of improvement for allmost everyone is pictures. The focus of pictures.
Problem is that it tends to take to much focus fromthe game itself to make really good pictures.
If it's possible we should use reporters...  8v)
Ie spectators with the sole purpose to write the story.

I get carried away with taking pictures. Sometimes I have the direction they wish me to travel pointed out by my opponents mid digit with my own set of complete instructions on what to do when I arrive.   :oh:

I have GM'd (sorry I am used to that phrase even though it doesn't quite fit here) for games between players but it's very hard to keep your gob shut and not interfere. Besides it's hard to organise two people attending apposed to three
