Hi everyone. So we had our big push kick off on Friday. As you would perhaps have seen in my earlier update post, we've received some very positive coverage and we gained some backers, and that's of course great and makes us happy...but, at the same time, things are moving slowly in terms of backers and contributions. Despite having more than 1,000 visitors in the soft-launch period week, the vast majority of whom would have been TacComs people, we really only saw about 30 backers from our community. Someone said to me yesterday, given the level of engagement seen so far, it's clear the core community really haven't gotten fully on board with this project. He said "Doesn't that send a clear message to publishers that they're right in not supporting this kind of game?" I don’t believe that. Every fibre of my being tells me you DO want this game. If I’m right, though, please—please—the time to show it is NOW. Glenn, Josh and I have come too far, worked too hard and—to be blunt—spent too much to not make Fractured Empire. We will make this game. But will it come out this year? Or will it come out in three years because we had to focus on casual games in order to shore-up our cashflow? Only the people for whom we're making Fractured Empire can decide what the truth is. That's you. We’re asking you to please contribute as little as $1 to let publishers and mainstream gamers know you understand and support what we're trying to achieve. We've even set the minimum perk to $1 in order to make it as easy as possible. Contributions at that level won’t see us hit our target, but seeing 500 backers suddenly arrive would at least show us and the crowd that the market for this game exists and there are people interested in playing it when it's released. http://www.indiegogo.com/EWFracturedEmpire Thanks for reading. |
