G'day All,

this painting project is taking a little longer to finish than I had planned. I am roughly halfway through painting my Dread Elves, and now the Skeletons have arrived...and the wife is on holidays (so a working holiday for me at the moment as the list of household jobs increases).

Work is progressing on the Wartorn rules, but in order to get me re-energised to continue/recommence painting my Dread Elves, here are some photo's of the painted Dread Elf Host of Lord Kulhaq.

The photo's are a little fuzzy, but on the phone they looked pretty sharp, I may have to get another set of photo's done, as these figures have come up pretty good. Not as good or as detailed in the photo's of the figures on the Microworld site.

This will be a large Army, enabling me to try different styles of play and deployment..plus I love big armies.
My Aim is to have a General, two to three other Commanders, two Sorceress's, 4-5 by 5 Rank Spear Formations, 2-3 by 3 Rank Crossbow Formations, 2 by 3 Rank Formations of Outriders and War Lizard Cavalry, two formations of Shadows, 2 Formations of Glaive Warriors, 2 Hydras, 4 Boltthrowers and a baggage train.

Can anyone recommend 6mm boltthrowers, the Irregular one is a test model, but not to my taste, it is fixed in place and I would like my boltthrowers to be somewhat portable. A gang of slaves pulling them into battle or a new position is what I have in mind.

Likewise, the Irregular Hydra is a little small for my liking, can anyone recommend something bigger that looks more like a giant lizard/dragon with 7 heads instead of a giant snake with 7 heads?

These are really good!
Thanks for sharing, no where near enough 6mm fantasy is shared!

I am using baccus bolt throwers. I think they are from the roman era range. I will hook them out and check for you at the weekend, and tell you exactly which range they are from. They are separate, so no base like irregular's have, and come with human crew. I think the crew is pretty much men in rags so they can be used as slaves, I believe I used mine for just the heads for my pile of skulls for my orcs, as the bodies where a bit weak and badly cast so a bit smushed.

They are a fiddle though as they come in two parts, the top part and the stand (I really don't know the terminology for bits of a thrower!) and the point that glues together is so small it took me ages to get the damn thing to stick together (with out my fingers being attached!) which means they are a bit delicate. But they look good, and they are slightly larger than irregular. (Though I do like the little rock throwers irregular do, they come separate to the base, the base has the little orc crew on instead!)

Thanks RexHavoc.

Good tip on the Baccus Roman Bolt throwers, I think I will order some in.
