Hello everyone. My name is Lord Marcus, and welcome to (jackass :P) my blog!

A few days ago I posted saying hello, and explaining my upcoming microworld project.

I'm happy to say that my small order arrived today, so I can get cracking on painting.

This log will be where I will post pictures and talk about my progress. As of yet I have not decided on a basing size (Still thinking on what would work best for Kings of War.) Any suggestions would once again be most appreciated.

I've thought about 6 models on a regular 20x20mm base. Thus every regular pack of infantry would give me 10 "models" or a troop.

Toi toi!

Wish you good luck and looking forward to 6mm fantasy goodies!
Also very interested to hear a bit more about 6mm KoW, as it is one of the potential system we would like to use as well.

Will you have a certain theme for your shambling horde? :)
*pyramid = egyptian?

kings of war is a great game, and if I can figure out a way to base these so as to work, the rules should translate seamlessly.

theme is somewhat if an offshoot of my 28mm undead collection

Sorry for the double post everyone, but I have a small update!

1. Someone on the Mantic Forums suggested an ingenious use for 20mm x 40mm (I had been thinking about this, but his pictorial example won me over.)

2. I found a domestic seller of litko bases, and while I normally detest wood bases (my models are supposed to last forever damnit! not rot away :P ) these were cheap. $7 for 50 bases. Loki works in mysterious ways, showing me this after I had just been convinced to use 20mm x 40mm :P

Loooking forward to this!

FYI Renadra makes 20x40 plastic bases at £2.50 for 20.

Awesome to see a blog post on here, can't wait to see the painted up skellies!

I base everything on 20x40 litko wood bases, but if I had it to do over again, I might have gone with the Renedra stuff. Now, I can't be bothered to rebase everything, so wooden bases it is!

I have thought about using Kings of War myself for some battles, it would probably be good publicity for my stuff...maybe once I am out of grad school and have time to take a breath!

I think I remember seeing a post on the Kings of War forum where they used 20x40 for a troop, 40x40 for the medium size and 40x80 for the horde.

Yes, or in other words 1 base for a troop, 2 for a regiment, and 4 for a horde (some exceptions...see zombies and possibly orcs)

I will have a small update shortly.

40x20mm really seems the way to go for 6mm fantasy!
Nearly every rule system gravitates around it, doubt you'll go wrong with your decision. :)

Sorry, I'm Scottish and I'm playing to my national stereotype. Please ignore and continue with your blog... I will follow with interest and will (try to) refrain from asking any further tartan related questions! :D

That is not a kilt unfortunatley, its my comforter. I'm part scottish as well. but from the Mcdougall (or Macdougall) clan.

No problem at all by the way. Tartan is awesome.
