Congratulations to Steve and Microworld Games on their release of the Dark Alliance army. As of this post, some of the units are up in the catalog, looking like pics are to follow. I am definitely planning on acquiring some, along with some Firmament soon. ![]() Keep 'em comin'!! I for one am happy to see new stock and happy to support you. What's next Steve?? |

Thanks Anthony. Real life commitments have kept me from finishing all the painting I had to do, so I will not be making an "official " announcement until they are all done. I put them up in the store in case anyone wanted to get them early. I am still figuring out the best way to work the bundles. I would want to have all the painted pics up by next weekend, but nothing ever seems to be easy anymore, but hopefully it won't be too long. |

Can I just point out that the Dark Alliance Bundle deals B & C are exactly the same thing......... Incidentally would it be possible for you to arrange a deal with Dark Realm Miniatures (for example as you handle their US distribution) for UK distribution as customs charges mean I've had to hold back o a few further orders and mean I can't justify single pack orders. Don't get me wrong I'm a delighted customer with large Orc and Undead orders but a UK distributor would make it far easier to do. |

The bundles have been corrected. Selling things wholesale is problematic for me. You will note that there are a few US-based mini companies that do not have distributors, including Khurusan, who is a biggie in terms of the sheer number of miniature lines available. Why don't we sell to overseas shops? Because we price our miniatures in such a way that it literally would not be worth it if we gave the required wholesale discount. Khurusan has mentioned this several times on TMP when asked when he is getting a UK distributor. So really, if I were to actively pursue overseas distribution, 1 of 2 things would have to happen. I would have to either start casting myself to increase my profits and make the wholesale discount more bearable. Or two, I would have to raise my prices by about 30-40%, thus in effect, you would be paying almost the exact same price for your minis, only the money would be going to myself and the overseas distributor rather than to the UK government. This may be more palatable to you, but the fact remains that your costs would be similar. Why do I not want to raise prices? I don't think the market would accept it. 6mm fantasy is a niche. Would my sales increase if I priced them the same as 10mm fantasy, that has an entrenched following and existing miniature lines? I highly doubt it. For my part, if Dark Realm were interested, I would consider it, but from what I gather he is quite busy with his own lines. Also, the fact of the matter is, unless you are selling volume, carrying someone else's lines just doesn't make that much money. Why? Because I would only be able to discount by about 45%. After factoring in the shipping and such that he would have to pay, maybe he would be making a $3 profit on selling a single pack of infantry. Given the size of my ranges, if he (or anyone else for that matter) wanted to actually carry the full line, it would probably cost him about $3,000 or more to stock the whole line. Now, not everything in the line is going to sell very quickly, but essentially, to make back the money from this initial stock order, he would have to sell 1,000 (!) packs. Just to put that little number into perspective, I haven't sold 1000 packs of infantry since I opened in 2009. So most small businesses, as miniature companies are, do not want to wrap that much capital into a thing that will not make its money back for 5 years or so. So why do I stock Dark Realm? For the same reason I run a miniature business, I don't care about the money all that much. |

You provide a great speedy service and your international postage rates are unbelievably generous. |

I notice the war gargantuan is included in army bundle B. Is it available individually ? |

Thanks for the honest answer and I'm glad to help with the bundle problem. I will certainly still be purchasing from you it'll just have to be less and bigger orders. |

@ Lyle Thanks for the comment! Also, the Gargantuan should be up now, forgot to add him to the 6mm fantasy type. @Llamahead No problem, I hope I didn't come off negative or hostile in the answer. I definitely feel bad for my international customers getting beat up by the taxes, that is why I try to keep the shipping low and I offer bundles for some discounts. |

Yes and brilliant they are I've had great fun with my Undead bundles and I'm planning to add some Centaur and Dwarf bundles when finances commit. Your postage is excellent. Part of my interest in direct distribution is that I love seeing models before I buy and seeing Microworld Games stuff in a FLGS or at a wargames show would be excellent and expensive. |

I have a question on the mounts, would it be financially viable to do a set of riders/howdahs or whatever to place with a mount? What I mean is for example so you can purchase an orc spear howdah to place on your brachiosaur? Just curious. |
