Although I'm not too fond of using wild life animals as warrior races, these are beautifully done. Especially I like the gorilla, rhino and the dingonek |

Man those are awesome ideas. Not sure what I'd do with them yet, but I'll get them. Perhaps some big cats, chimp archers, hippos or water buffalo as mounts for some other creature (crocodiles?). For bigger creatures, back around 1987, Charles Saunders (author of the Imaro and Dossouye series - which has humans riding water buffalo) did an article in Dragon magazine about African monsters. A couple of years ago he put the article with some updates on his blog: http://www.charlessaunderswriter.com/ - then go to Blog and the "Imaginary Africans" entry, it's kind of weirdly set up so I can't link to the article directly. Personally, I'd love to see his settings done in miniature, but when I went looking to see if 6mm would work a few years ago, I couldn't find enough analogues so I started it in 2mm, where I can handwave things easier. Eureka started some suitable stuff in 10mm, but the line hasn't progress and I'm just using it for skirmishing. |

Especially I like the gorilla, rhino and the dingonek I'm not "Wild" (ha-ha) about animals as warrior races either. However: 1. something about these intrigues me. The elephants and rhinos are really well done. The ape renderings look good too. 2. There are armies like "skaven" that seem quite popular and fit into fantasy nicely. So, why not these. I know that these are based on Africa lore. If you can accept rats, why not other animals? 3. anything 6mm fantasy is welcome 4. I like that the range is growing. These will look great on the table. The different varieties of units and different heights of each will really be fun looking and fun to play. Keep 'em comin'......we'll keep buyin!!! I'm very interested to see how these turn out and will definitely have an army. |

I know I will be getting the big guys but an army investment will come down to the look of the pygmies. |

The sculptor actually just finished these, so they will probably come out in the first few months of next year. |
