rexhavoc> The home grown fantasy epic rules are still testing at the moment, whenever we get a chance to play, which is not very often. I play with my sons mainly, and they are not quite old enough yet to go into it to much. What we have done is make units 4 models to a stand or two for cavalry. Using infantry and cavalry it is 5 stands making a rank, 1 rank to a unit, with the option of adding an extra 4 ranks for the same points cost. With bigger guys like ogres 4 makes a rank. Most infantry units also have the option to swap out 1 stand for a command stand. Commands upgrades are always 1 point. Commanders add +1 morale and otherwise fight as a normal stand. Rather than the 50 point brackets for normal epic, we use 1 point brackets, and other minor rule changes. Giants and dragons, have their own damage table, similar to old style titans. I won't go into to much here as it risks derailing thread, but that's the basic principal. I will post something up if it ever gets to the point of being worthy.
My current miniatures in this scale are a few goblins from irregular, and a couple of army deals from microworld of some dwarves. One son has some lizardmen from micro world, and the other is using empty cardboard bases for free nations (our human list.) We have made a few monsters ourselves but are not very good, but better than cardboard bases. We made some giant sandworms and a single beholder. We tried making some large elementals, but they failed quite badly.
thedespot29> the closest image i have found is
http://aow.heavengames.com/units/unitst ... rc-Warlord the picture of the orc warlord. Just kind of with the sword more upright being held to the right and with the zwiehanders swords the german used to use, with the twisty, massively oversized blades. I see hobgoblins as the 'smart guys' (at least in a military sense) in the goblin/orc family, being well equpped and efficient, as oppsed to the brutes of the orcs or scrappity nature of the goblins.
Something like ogre knights in a similar fashion would be cool as well, as all the ogres I have found at least are very barbaric looking, it would be cool to see something different as well. My wish list grows daily... I am however realistic, and know that costs, time and effort and all that make it hard to actually produce stuff for sale. Hats off to you guys that can do it! I think anything that can add to the available range is great. Looking forward to seeing what you have planned.
