Second Junker building cast and painted.

I just had to use one of those in the build somewhere!

I second moredakka's remark. The weathering effect is simply lovely, any chance you might do a tutorial either here or on your blog? I, for one, would like to know how to replicate that effect.

I have some images of some of the actual Junkers themselves here for your viewing pleasure:

A Junker farmer tending to his meagre crops and a Junker scavenger with a bio-mask and i-device:

A Junker in a rain coat as he walks around looking for stuff to eat/scavenge/sell and a mechanic with a prothestic leg:

The idea is to make the Junkers the 'rejects' of other societies and to have a visible mix of cultures and creeds in the Junker community.

The third mega-building is almost ready to go under the mould and I am working on the fourth medium sized Junker shanty...

Why am I dying to paint the rain smock guy in orange and start making muffled sounds while I talk? :D

Righty ho.

The next simple shanty is in the mould and is a medium sized dwelling (so bigger than the first one shown here and smaller than the last one).
But seeing as that is sat in silicone I can't take a photo of it.
However I have here some shots of my Junker Fortress/Town Hall/Warehouse... Big Thing.

I have taken the images with smock man next to it as he seems to be very popular here and on other forums.

I will be doing one more sensible sized dwelling before putting this one into a mould.
That will give:

small dwelling (above)
medium dwelling
medium dwelling
big dwelling/farm (above)
big monster dwelling of doom (this post)

Five shanties to start the range with.

Neat sandbag emplacement, not so sure about the fur.

Also what is scavenger man holding pointing out from his waist there? could be interpreted in a slightly unseemly manner.

That's not fur, that is "rust weed" which grows on Kometenmelodie and thrives on rust, oddly enough.
It does provide a great immunity to something of eaten, but more of that later...

LOL, that is his 'i-device'.
Or scanner, or tablet pc or....
