The EW entries in the Main Book, p.58, clearly show a Maximum Rating based on each Tech Level.

In SkunkWorks, the chart on p.36 suggests something very different. The System Points cost is the same (0.5), but the Max System Points value indicates that:

TL3 can have EW 12
TL4 can have EW 20
TL5 can have EW 24


Shields also have the same deal: Lower maxes in the Main book, higher (implied) max values in SW.


I havent read every entry in all the books, as Im pulling pure data here for the Builder, but I want to verify this before moving on.

Ummm. no. :)

The 'Max' values are the actual EW point maximums, not system point maximums; likewise for shields. No vehicle can ever have more than 12 points of EW.

Kajo! Your books make me want to scream sometimes ;)

Going only from SW, which I am doing now to have all systems, etc, what you just wrote isn't supported, or even inferred.

If the "MAX" under the System Points column, is the most EW or Shield allowed, then why is it in the System Points column and not in the Notes section (which actually disappeared in SW)? Even so, EW at TL3 in the main book says its max is 8, but what you're saying is that SW allows for EW 6 at TL3.

Shields, I can see, but now I need to question every entry in the System Points column :(

Hrm. To me (and, to be honest, you're the only one thus far to interpret these entries differently), it says 1/2 SP per point of EW with a max of x points of EW. However, the TL 3 entry should read '8', not '6'.

I know I'm difficult, but I 100% guarantee I read things with a more black-and-white interpretation of things than most casual readers. Especially when trying to create mathematical formulas for your stuff :)

I also wouldn't expect to find the max of a value in the column you wrote it in. You had it right in the main book :p Thanks for the clarification though.
