Im decent at Excel, but get too complicated at Lookups, etc, and Im out of my league.

Regardless, a major gap in the Strike Legion arsenal is a unit builder worksheet, and so Im trying my amateur hand at it.

As I start populating my lookup fields, I am seeing that Walkers have their armor locations listed as:

Quote:
Each Walker purchases armor factors for its Head, Torso, and Extremities, in front and rear locations.

OK, so is this:
Head
Front Torso
Rear Torso
Extremities

- or -

Front Head
Rear Head
Front Torso
Rear Torso
Front Extremities
Rear Extremities

- or -

does Extremities really mean "Arms, Legs", "Left Arm, Right Arm, Left Leg, Right Leg", or "Front Arm, Rear Arm, Front Leg, Rear Leg", or even "Front Left Arm, Front Right Arm, Rear Left Arm, Rear Right Arm, Front Left Leg, Front Right Leg, Rear Left Leg, Rear Right Leg", or any other crazy combination?

The verbage is more than a little obscure :P

Thanks!

'Extremities' covers both arms and legs, with front and rear target facings of the extremities using the same armor value.

OK, so the correct answer is:

Front Head
Rear Head
Front Torso
Rear Torso
Front Extremities
Rear Extremities

The book (page 57) does not specify that the Front and Rear locations of the armor entries must be the same, espeically when compared to the AIR/STOVL entry that does clarify this.

Thanks for the reply!

Ooops... you're correct. That's what I get for answering off the cuff when working on another game system. :P

BACK TO WORK, you! :) I'll try to have a gross misrepresentation of my spreadsheet up by week's end. It likely will only have options from Book 1, but maybe a more knowledgeable player can take it and run with it...

I tried to do something similar, but I was defeated by the sheer volume of options in the books!

One thing I had trouble with was the reduction in system point cost as tech level increased.

Antigen Systems (2) have a System Points cost of "1 per point" and a Points Cost of "75 per point", but Antigen Systems (3) has a SP Cost of "2" and a cost of "250".

Does this mean that I can take multiple Antigen (2) but not (3)? Just putting data into a data page so I can use LOOKUP on it...and this is confusing :) (because I am having to get clever on determining the cost, what with some items being a multiple of BHV and some being a straight point cost).

It means the costs for 1/2/3 would be 75/150/250. Only one instance of the system is allowed on a vehicle; you could have Antigen 1 OR 2 OR 3.

Got ya. Data is mostly entered. Now I just need to port it over and figure out how to deal with exceptions (like the System Points on Smoke Mortars or Chaff Pods).
