I do not know how appropriate this topic is, so if a mod needs to remove it I will completely understand.

Let's talk about remaking the models for the Squats.
There are plenty of 3D renderings of Epic models as well as a substantial amount of proxies for the armies of the Warhammer 40K universe. People have gotten very creative, and I am hoping that we could discuss what the Squats should have looked like on the Epic board.
The war engines made for our stout inner core cousins should be huge (not to be confused with 'uuuuuuge) and yet they are super small. It's okay to have some scale disparity in the game, of course. But when a DC5 model is smaller than a DC3 Baneblade, it makes fielding the Squats look wonky. Quaint to be sure, but still wonky.

I'm wondering if anyone out there who has the expertise to draft 3D models would like to throw in their talents to the ring and perhaps create some proxies that would make Squat models both available and larger.

Overlords could be really big since they're - ya know - blimps.

Wide open discussion here. If I am the only one thinking this, that would be good to know too. However, 40K's re-release of the Squats will undoubtedly rekindle a desire for Epic players to dust them off, so might as well get ahead of the game. And it may very well provide a nice supplemental income for the guy or gal who steps up.

Onslaught's Grudd line has been great, filing out everything in the playtest list aside from the big three WEs. Deacon even did the alternative battle cars and gyrocopters from the Citadel Journal article.

worth trying https://www.tinkercad.com/ Mosc. The old style squat vehicles have very simple geometry. Tinker is just about sticking together basic shapes and doesn't need any parametric cad or mesh modelling skills to use, you could run up squat stuff pretty quickly.

Good to see you back! (ive still got your left over chaos androids, and i still plan to use em for crons, …one day …)

Onslaught should have you covered for this I would think Mosc?

I think it's just the remaining 3 giant superheavies left to complete the Grudd but I think I saw him say he plans to do some Grudd 3d modelling soon so hopefully he'll complete them in the not that distant future.

You buy them from him as physical models but they're 3d prints so you can get them printed as the standard size or larger scale if you prefer (to look the part alongside newer 8mm Titanicus titans like many of use for Epic for example).

and TBF those three super heavies are available in a very Demiurg-ish styled proxy as (now) STLs from Gregsters Lab. There's no reason to not Squat I feel! Granted many old schoolers/2nd edition fans really will want something more like the crazy norse-dwarves style of the old stuff but the community has created most of that already (if not all). I never liked that even when new so didn't track most of it however.

The new squat aesthetics may influence people's desire for different infantry I will admit and depending on what look an inevitable nu-squat vehicle(s) may have again may influence people's desire for what they want it to look like. Meaning there's lots of play available in the squat space. I mean lets look at just how many great diverging styles for guard there are. Squats, being an entire sub-race of humans, should have as broad a depth of cultures as to make room for all sorts of takes. Go forth and model, Mosc!

OOOH, that Super-heavy WE is a big feller! I only see one but she looks beautiful! I just would like to see the others (even the train) bigger. Not gigantic, of course, but double the size of the original models seems about right. I dunno.

yeah all the not-squat SHT STLs are all moving to a well known small scale wargame company exclusively. I can give you renders of them if you want though. They're very much in the AT Scale range so YMMV but it seems to be the new black.
