Great work as usual - great photos and a good summary of the units.

Interesting, although the statement 'Overlords are easily the best unit in the game' is debatable. Personally i'd describe them more as 'assault fodder' but that might just be me ;) In a shooting heavy meta where no-one bothers assaulting though, they would be better i guess.

Thanks for the report.

I would place an addendum to the Overlords that the way Line of Sight rules are played make a big difference to the perceived power of the Overlords. Out of the six lists taken so far in EUK tournaments the maximum number of Overlords taken has been 3.

I'd echo Tim on that. Also, the 3 overlord list was the worst performing of squat lists to date. Mark and I tried a game with 5 and frankly I thought they were a bit pants - as Richard says, straight up assault fodder.

I rate the cyclops & gyros. While big titans are rare, dc3 war engines are pretty common and the cyclops is fantastic against them. Gyros give you invaluable scout screens to ward off early doors air assaults, are great for objective grabbing and (as orange pointed out) are basically land speeders with battlecannons.

I think the general trend in the UK has been away from things shooty support things like overlords and goliaths and towards more core (bezerkers and infantry) plus big war engines. Essentially prioritising resilience and assault power.

Great blog post as always - I've been waiting for your take on the space dwarfs.
