Hi everybody. I'm new to Epic Armageddon but I've been collecting epic miniatures since 1995. I thought it's about time I made a profile and said hello to my fellow Squat Warlords.

Hi!

So I've stayed away from Epic Armageddon because there has never been an official Squat list for the game. I'm very glad to see that you guys are working so hard to get a list approved to be used in tournaments. I'm very grateful to you all.

Sadly, I know of no other Epic players in my area. I'm still trying to get others interested in Epic and will continue to do so.

Squats were the very first army I bought when I got into Epic all of those years ago so it is my army of choice going in to Epic Armageddon.

Thanks for getting me interested in this version of the game.

Welcome aboard! There's more than a few people stuck without local players that get their Epic fix online so you might want to check out perhaps using Vassal to play some games (and battle reports too ;) ).

Thanks Jimmyzimms. Glad to be here. I have slowly been getting one of my friends interested but thats only because I gave him the entire chapter of the Ultramarines in Epic scale as a birthday present. But he's only agreed to play two games so far, and only of 2nd edition Epic.

Somehow I have to convince him to get into Epic Armageddon.

Welcome along! Yes a few of us have Squat armies, need to get them on the field myself so I can help refine the rules.

Thank you Markconz. Ok, so I've seen the thurgrim list, but I also just recieved the first Firepower magazine from an ebay trade, it has a Squat list in it that was official for a while for the third edition of Epic. Does anyone know if that works for the Epic Armageddon game as well? And if so, is it considered the official squat list?

Third edition was E40k, that's not compatible at all with EA. Why does it have to be "official"? The Thurgrim has seen a lot of playtesting over the years, more than anything GW put out in a magazine.

I don't personally feel that there has to be an "official" list but tournament organizers often feel that there does. The entire reason I brought it up is because some events will not allow experimental lists, which from what I have been able to gather by reading this site, the Thurgrim list still falls into that category.

So I was trying to pin down what all tournament organizers would consider official so I can avoid not being allowed to play in a tournament because I didn't bring an "official" list.

Personnally I love the Thurgrim list and I wish it were already accepted by the commitee.

It needs battle reports for that, with those I'd bet approval wouldn't be far behind.

Which tourneys are limiting to approved only? Most I've seen on here allow dev lists if you clear it with the organizer.

That would be cool if thd organizers did that. Normally any tournament I've attended around here for any game system has frowned upon anything even resembling home brewed rules. I have no reason to believe they would feel any different about eArmageddon rules. So admittedly, no tournaments are even going on around here for eArmageddon, but I do have experience with how they would probably react if there were. And that's why I wanted to know if there was anything considered "official".

Anyway, I see some Bat Reps on here with Squats already, how many do you suppose the commitee would need to see? And would those bat reps have to be from major events or could they be just from friends playing different armies versus the thurgrim list at each others houses?

From the CRaP:

An army list can be submitted to the NetERC for approval by its Army Champion when at least three independent gaming
groups have playtested a minimum of 18 games with the same version of the army list. Six of these games must be
playtested by the list developer. The remaining twelve games must be from other groups, with each group providing at least
four, but no more than six, playtests each. These games must be completed using the Epic Tournament Game Rules (EA
6.1) and be against opponents using NetEA Approved army lists in order to be considered. The games should be
documented and submitted to the NetERC along with the list for approval.

Oh very cool!...now you've put me on a mission. I'm gonna start promoting Epic Armageddon in my area and see if I can get some bat reps going to get this list approved. Thank you for your help Dave. ;D

That's a tough one, I can't remember anyone on here out that way. There used to be a crowd in Vancouver, not sure if they're still around (or remotely close to you).

They are still around but they're about 300+ miles away. I don't know any of them but I've heard of them before.
