Post subject:  Old old old squat concept sketches of mine
Today I got to thinking about some old concept sketches and renders I did years ago (about 12 or 13 years, I think) of some squat-only vehicles and other assorted 40k and BFG stuff. These were my first forays into 3D art, done long before 3D printing was a reality, but I think they get my ideas across well enough. Unfortunately the 3D models were done in Ray Dream Studio 5, which ceased functioning after I upgraded my computer (10 years ago), but the renders remain.

Anyway, I've posted them in an album here. Maybe they can inspire someone else.

Me likes. Any interest in expanding on that artwork in the future? Say, for a supplement perhaps?

well, not really. Losing the ability to open the files was a real blow to my motivation. I did think ahead enough at the time to scan in all of my sketches of the vehicles - I think I must have just gotten a scanner at the time. That was probably the most I ever used the thing.

I just had them on a hard drive and I figured I might as well cast them out into the wilds of the internet, and see what people do with them.

Zombie thread!

I just thought I'd let anyone who might be interested know that I found a way to open and convert my old 3D models. I still don't feel like messing with these models anymore, but I can supply my models to someone in .dxf format.

I haven't performed all of the conversions yet, but if someone wants the files, send me a PM or email.

Fair warning though, the converted files are pretty rough to work with, even with a good computer, so anyone working with them will need to clean them up.

I may be able to get an extension that will allow me to export to .obj format, but that isn't assured yet.
