Hey everyone,

Gunslinger007 is going to be taking over the Grey Knights. I wish him all the best at pushing them over the line for approval.

Thanks
Norto

Thanks Norto!

I'm pretty happy with the foundation that Norto set up. I want to see if we can incorporate one or two other units into the army to help open up different builds, although I understand there's restrictions given their fluff.

I know it has a bit of niche' appeal, but I'd be happy to hear what people think of the current list, their interpretations of Grey Knights, and what they'd like to see out of the list.

Cool beans! Good luck sheparding the list and strap on the helmet for all incoming internet-rage! :-)

My main things is I hope to keep the inquisitorial forces in one form or another.

That's a goal of mine as well. Having them functioning as a scouting role I think matches the fluff where Inquisitors tip off the GKs to incursions. Given the fact that GKs are also supposed to be an elite strike force working with the rest of the Inquisition, I agree it's important to keep that flavor.

Great, that means I'll have more opportunities to lose against them. But seriously... Played my 1st game against them on Saturday with our new AC. It went to points. I like the flavor of the list.

Good luck. I hope to see the list being shepherded towards approved. I like the decisions made so far by Norto, and will try to get a few games in before the end of the year.

Thanks Fredmans! I'll work on an estimated timeline and goals for the list. At the current point, I'd like for people to give the list a try and hear feedback on what people think of the current iteration. I have ideas for the list, but I want to know what the general community thinks as well.

Hey gunslinger007,

I tried to keep the same theme with inquisitorial forces on the ground to tip off the deathwatch for fluff. Its mainly working as an alpha strike force and I'm feel the grey knights in their current state doing the same thing with different formations and a slightly different approach but I feel it works for the fluff. Games seemed fine with them. They still need some testing done to iron out the flaws. Keen on seeing how you go with them and am definitely happy to get some games in.

Thanks for taking on the list.

I wanted to give a quick introduction for who I am and my experience for those of you I haven’t managed to meet in person. I started exploring war-gaming in 2012, just before the great purge of Specialist’s Games. Epic was the first system that I got involved with, oddly enough, without any experience in 40k. Since then, I’ve explored different scales and games including Necromunda, Shieldbash, Dropzone Commander, and Warmaster among others. Through this time, Epic has remained by primary game system. My current Epic collection includes Steel Legion, Tyranids, Space Wolves, Grey Knights, Death Guard, Eldar, Knights, AMTL, Tau, and Ghaz’ Orks.

I enjoy competitive play and have had a variety of success since taking last at my first tournament, Mechanicon ’14. Some of my highlights include taking first at Fall In ’17, third overall and highest ranked PHR for Dropzone at Adepticon ’17, and just to show that I’m not a complete ass, Best Sporting at NEAT X. Earlier this year I had the opportunity to check off a big bucket list item and travel to the UK to participate in tournament abroad (big shout out again to everyone who made that such a great experience!) and I’m hoping to make it to Germany in 2019.

All that out of the way, I recognize that the fluff and character of the 40k universe is a big reason while so many of us continue to play a “dead” games system, myself included. Net: EA, for the most part, does a good job at balancing the two and adding in that additional flavor that we enjoy so much. I’m hoping that I can bring that same balance to a list as iconic as the Grey Knights.

Shortly I’ll be adding a post directed towards future list development to the Grey Knights v1.1 – 2018. Before releasing what will likely be a 2.0 version, I’d like to discuss the current state of the list, the community’s expectations for the list, ideas for additions to the list, and any other changes that are in consideration. Before I go full tilt in any one direction, ideally I’ll have some feedback from others invested in the list as well.

If anyone has any questions or wants to discuss something off board, feel free to PM me!
