I played again last night against the same friend I did the last batrep against. I took the same list (a little out of laziness) but due to some constructive criticism, my friend took a much better and balanced ork list.

Next we went over tactics, how and when to be concerned about objectives, and when to retain or not.

In short, I got my ass handed to me.

Granted, mid turn 1 the dice began to cool for and warm for Bryan. Turn 2 the effect continued, with my dice freezing and his came on fire. Regardless, it was a fun game against fun friends.

I learned three things. 1) small formations suck, so yes, I need transports in everything. This will reduce my activations over all, but maybe only by 1. 2) I need to juke more! I lost 3 of my 4 Lightnings on Turn 1 to lucky aa fire. 3) Moving unsupported formations forward is death. I moved one formation of Seraphim up one flank as a decoy. The ruse worked but I lost them. Oh well. I also subjected my Repentia to fire they didn't need to take. That was my bad.

I will redo the list for next time.

Sorry for the resurrection folks but I'm planning on starting a new army with this list.

So after a bit of thought I came up with this 3k list.

Soroitas Convent 395
4 Rhinos
1 Imolator
Heroine
Supreme Commander

Soroitas Convent 400
Dominions
4 Rhinos
2 Imolators

Retributor Convent 250

Repentia Confessional 280
3 Rhinos

Exorcism Battalion 250

Seraphim Convent 275
Heroine

Seraphim Convent 275
Heroine

Redemptionist Crusade 250
Penitents

Fraternis Militia 475 BTS
Leman Russ
Flak

Lightning Squadron 150

Just wanting a little feedback before I plough funds into Rhinos etc

Looks a pretty good list to me. I'm going to be updating the list soon with some new ideas.

Will these ideas include small tracked cathedrals?

Hey Zombo

Played my first game with the above list last night, I lost 3-0 to orks (Blitz, T&H and TSNP) but I think that can be put down to lack of experience using the list. My opponent knew I'd be using sisters and having read the list I think he loaded up on stuff I'd have trouble dealing with ie a great gargant and a large Stompa mob. It was still pretty close, some bad luck lost me a pivotal assault would have swung the game completely the other way, I only lost by 1 point.

Couple of thoughts:
Dominions: felt strange not having a shooting attack with melta guns when firing flamers.
Faithful: quite like it, I take it the till next action wording was intended to be quite a boon to soon to break units?
List construction: the 1/4 frankly killed my choices a bit. At 3k I can't take a warlord or a reaver + lightnings. I realise AT is an intentional weakness of the rest of the list but I think this is a little too harsh.

Will have another game in a couple of weeks, will try to do a full batrep with pics.

Thanks CaptainSenioris!

Dominions: Meltaguns have too short a range to have a shooting attack, much shorter than plasma guns for example. Heavy flamers do have a shooting attack in epic, but flamers don't. I know they both use the same template in 40k, but it's clear they're regarded as a much bigger flame in epic.

Faithful: Yes, it's supposed to be a boost to broken formations if they pray before they break.

I'll look again at list construction, but the next revision will have more WE options that aren't in the 1/4 limit.

Is there any official link between the Crassus and the sisters?

none that I'm aware of. the forgeworld blurb mentions only the Cadian 6th armour

but it's a DC2 WE that fills a role similar to that of a small traction cathdral. Ad-mech and Death Korps have the Gorgon, and people can proxy with it, but the Gorgon looks too WWII to me, while the Crassus could baroque up nicely.

Yes, I'm suggesting we nail a chapel on top, or at least ornate extra armour or summat.

EDIT: It probably would work better in the Inq list, as support for arbites or stormtroopers.
