A good game of Epic was played today between PLM2212 and I  I thought I was going to lose but narrowly pulled out the win in the end, 49 to 43.  We both went with Titan Legions, PLM@@!@ also field Knights while I added IG (Hellbore Co. and Stormhammer Co.).

The battlefield

My forces

The enemy

Enemy Reaver battlegroup

Enemy Warlord and Warhounds

Another enemy warlord

Beware my Trident! (it scored two kills!)

Vanquished enemy Reaver

Survey of battlefield from enemy POV.  Note my misguided hellbore that nearly missed the battlefield.

The end  :)

PLM2212 can probably add some better pics, my camera rather sucks sometimes.

Between PLM2212 and I we are nearly ready for an all City Fight Epic scenario.

Looks good ! ?Both Terrain and Titans. ?Did I see Ork Mk.1 Battlewagon turrets on some of those Titans ? And we'd never lay our Titans down when KO'd. We'd just put cotton round them, like they were burning wrecks. ?But again, nice stuff ! ? :D

Mk.1 battlewagon turrets?  You mean my carapace lasers don't you!

I have used wool and such other times but do not currently keep any in my Epic stash.  I probably should, the titan bases do tend to break up the LOS when toppled over.

Yep, that's a good idea, using them as Carapace Lasers !  Those seem to be a rare find, anyway ...   And yes, I use cotton with the tips lightly sprayed black for all our wrecks.  Titan or otherwise. A wreck will block LOS and provide cover. We got the original idea from the old AH Panzerblitz game. Using wrecks for cover and to block LOS.  And it makes practical sense ...

Yeah I think Legion4's plan for representing demolished titans sounds good.

Even better, make up destroyed versions of each titan according to several  possible deaths... :;):

When titans explode in my games I have in the past put down a big crater with a pile of steel wool flame in it :)  When they die in other ways they just get removed. I should make some way to do something about that maybe...

We often do just remove them, but sometimes we leave them in place toppled over. I'm sure after PLM2212 sees this, he will be at work on colored wool!

One lesson learned in game:  Melta-Cannon + Trident = awesome combination :)

Like I said, normally wrecks don't disappear, they may explode but in most cases burn ... a mass of torn metal and twisted parts ...    Plus provide cover and block LOS, it makes the game a little more interesting, regardless. :)

I really wish more local players would get interested in Epic, it such a great game!  They all are amazed by it when they see play a game of it at the local shop, but it is not a core game so it must be "dead".  One little snotling even came over to table, surveyed the game, then declared: "This is Warmachine, huh?"

Haha, yeah I'm not surprised. You should have said it's the ORIGINAL warmachine, in production for 20 years.
