Battle between my 8.3.3 Tech gaurd army and my opponents XII army (supposedly marines but titans lol)

Mine consisted of
2 warlord battlegroups
2 Reaver battlegroups
2 Warhound detachments

My opponent
4 Warlord battlegroups

So it was a big titan fight and plenty of damage

I basically put my 2 reaver battlegroups on my left flank (one was fire support other close combat)
My 2 warlord bg's took the centre and centre right. with my 2 warhound det going up the right flank to harrass and get 2 objectives

Well my opponent deployed on the hill and the centre.

First turn was a nightmare for me as got hit by 12 barrage missile launchers with quake cannons and volcano cannons following. my 3 centre warlords bore the brunt and had their shields stripped with one being taken out. Another to my friends horror survived two head shots from a volcano cannon!!

In response I had several vortex missiles which landed amongst one of his bg's with one square on taking shields out and then taking the titan out at the end of the turn Also my other warlord bg had 2 warp missiles which managed to take another warlord out. So at end of turn one it was 26 vs 8 to me.

As you can see his line of warlords on the left and my titans on the right. although it looks pretty open those rocks and woods were pretty tough on LOS


Turn 2

I loose a reaver, and my close combat ones start charging forward making use of cover. My blue reavers armed with turbo laser dest and a volcano cannon get some shots off although some out of range. My opponent has volcano/quake cannons and half have deathstrike cannons. And yet again i loose iniative.

As you can see my already destroyed warlord and all of my opponents lining up on red and grey and my reavers. But they manage to survive )

As you can see from this my other warlord battlegroup bit hard to get a line on targets and my warhounds starting to swing round and hit my opponents warlords in the rear.

End of turn 2 36 vs 18 to me with only the one casualty of my reaver and my opponent has some reactor and head damage.

Turn 3

My warlords and warhounds start to try and get into firing positions

my middle warlords take cover behind the hill, and my opponents warlords take a bit of cover and line up for my reavers. I lost iniative again

My close combat reavers nearly make it, with one being taken down with a 2nd side reactor hit. My vortex's all disapate except one, even though my mate was hoping they would hit my reavers lol

End of turn 3 and all looking a bit bleak as have lost 3 titans to my opponents 2 although it all depends on this next turn.

My reavers get into the fight, just gotta survive the warlords first fire!!

I loose a warhound after it had taken down a warlord with some turbo laser hits to its reactor.

My 2 warlords move up for some payback, helping take another warlord out.

My reavers get close and take the fire in close comabat, one gets 2 lots of head damage but manages to swing its wrecker destroying he warlords head!! The other reaver wins close combat but doesnt do enough damage to kill the warlord.

End turn 4 Victory is mine 73 to 26 points my opponent looses another warlord as cant get its reactor back online. For the loss of 1 warlord 2 reavers and a warhound to my opponents loss of 6 warlords a good result for me. I stuck to my plan through the battle, which does pay off if it works lol

Awsome. Thats one big battle. Its a shame those reavers did not have a chance to get chopy !

Is that a dedicated games room/loft I can see around the edges of your pics. You lucky thing, any chance of a pict of that too ?

Thats my mates loft, and the table is 6 by 5 ft i think but can be extended to 10/12 by 5ft.
The reavers did get choppy, one survived 2 head shots and used its wrecker to great effect taking out a warlord
